At our Talladega, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Excellent food, fresh, the cashier was super nice, friendly, and had a beautiful smile. He is a very young teenager. But he had a very nice attitude, polite, and great customer service. We need more young people serving us like this young man. Also the staff was working very hard and fast to get the orders out. I think they all showed good customer service and teamwork. I was very pleased. This was a very good place to enjoy my dinner. I thank the employees and management for making this an enjoyable experience.

I don’t remember their names, but there is a white man that runs the drive through and a young black fella usually around 4:45. They are so polite ! If I ever own my own food service business I would only pray I had 2 people like this running my shift. My husband has never wanted to go to Captain D’s ..but here lately he is allover it. He appreciates the hot food and the kindness. We will continue to eat there at least 2 times every week from now on.

On Wednesday night 01/29/25 around 8 pm my wife was at Captain Ds getting us dinner, in the Drive Thru ., as my wife handed the young man her card to pay she dropped it between the window and car . The young man came outside and ask her to pull up and got down on his hands and knees found the card ,gave it back to my wife went back inside and my wife handed him the card again. The ENTIRE TIME she was there he was the MOST RESPECTFUL young man .The good was fresh ,hot, . I called back and spoke with a manager complemented this young man and learned his name is ” Desmond” . I ask the manager when Desmond worked again as it was almost 8:45 pm. She said he works Friday I told her I will be back Friday to see Desmond and personally Thank him and give him a TIP. for his hard work caring attitude. Kudos for you all this is what Talladega needs .Keep up the GREAT WORK.

I went back on May 4th. They were much busier. They were much faster taking orders and also getting the food out despite the added volume of customers. I feel they listened to my complaint and addressed it. Count the shrimp is my only complaint. The improvement is worthy of a better score so I’m updating my review. I’ll be back again.
***They were taking 1 order at a time and once the car ahead pulled off they would then tak another order. So I had 3 kids in the car with me that waited 30-40 minutes for a 1 person meal. It was awful!!!! This isn’t the only place doing this but some of us don’t have that long to sit in a car and wait. They weren’t busy. I could have bought groceries and cooked myself faster than that. Lesson learned.

The service here is beyond horrible. Every time we order in the drive through, the wait is always extra long. There is no one inside and 1 car in front of us. It looks like they need to hire more people.

Not much help there today. Poor girl at the counter was doing drive jn and walk ins. Just too much. Cook was screaming at her what to do , food wasn’t ready etc. didn’t sound very friendly either to me. Went to the bathroom and floors were greasy I almost fell.
