We ordered our wedding cake from Rose Ave Bakery and couldn’t have been happier. We chose their Ube cake and it was absolutely amazing. The cake looked gorgeous, was decorated beautifully, and tasted incredible. Our guests loved it as well. We highly recommend them!!

Loved this bakery! Great pastries and baked goods with asian flavors. The pandan malasada was delicious and I wish I tried the ube cakes. I also bought their cookies to go and bring home from my trip and I highly recommend their classic chocolate chip and their cinnamon banana bread! Ube latte was a 5/5 and the spam musubi croissant was even more delicious. Their line can get long, but it moves fast. Will be going back next time i’m in DC.

This is my favorite kind of place; creative, quiet, and friendly. They are crafting beautiful pastries with unique flavor combinations. I’m a person with an indefatigable sweet tooth but, ironically, I don’t like things to be overly sweet. This place his the mark perfectly on that score. The black sesame cream in their donut was barely sweetened and right up my alley. The Thai Curry Tart was fragrant and savory. It was delicious. The hot mocha was not sweet in any way. It was very good. I travel a lot with work. This is just the kind of hidden gem I search out on my overnights. Two and a half thumbs up.

Came here after many rave reviews. Creative pastries and beverages with Asian twist. Paying premium for the chef creativity. Limited seating available with many carry out customers. With long line, have more registers available… unless waiting is simply the expectation. This is a bakery not quick service business model. I think business owner focus on the pastry offering instead.

My rating 5 as very satisfied

Temp 2/5
Speed of service 2/5

Attentiveness 3/5

Everything we tried was delicious! Rose Ave has such a light and airy vibe—both the space and the food. Every dish felt rich and flavorful without being over the top. Highlights for us were the lox focaccia (perfectly balanced and fresh) and the ube donut—a total standout. My husband couldn’t stop raving about the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant too.

Highly recommend coming hungry so you can try a little bit of everything—and plan to take some home for later! Bonus points for offering a discount to furloughed federal workers, which is such a thoughtful touch.

The best Ube bakeries in town. The name of the food actually matches the food. You can taste the ube or black sesame or truffle in their food richly, not just a hint of smell or flavor like other places. Their lattes are great but I love the Ube latte the most. I wish their business hours are more accommodating full time workers. I will return for more.

Rose Ave Bakery is a super cute and fun spot. You can find street parking right out front or nearby, and I was lucky enough to grab a spot right in front. When I walked in, it wasn’t packed at all. I saw they had an ube latte, and I knew I had to try it. I also decided at the last minute to get the scallion, egg and cheese, and I’m so glad I did — it ended up being my favorite thing. The ube latte was kind of a letdown, honestly. I wished it had more ube flavor and less coffee since the coffee overpowered the ube taste for me. It’s a little on the pricey side, but honestly, totally worth it to check out, especially if you opt to get a pastry item!

I’ve worked my way through most of the pastry menu and the quality is consistently good. The coffees and matcha are also great. My recent faves have been the sesame latte with the squash tart or sesame croissant.

Love the matcha!! Not watered down and sweetened perfectly. Also getting ube treats are a cherry on top!

The cashier was super nice too. I’ll definitely come back and bring some friends and family.

The Intern: When I read the reviews I thought that this place was going to blow me away, but in reality it had a smaller selection than most bakeries, and the food was very simple, but trying to be fancy in a way.

I’m not a doughnut person and this was a place with a lot of doughnuts, so it wasn’t really my favorite.

We got the Strawberry Passion Kouign Amann, Matcha Chocolate Twice Baked Croissant, Sugared Donut, and the Roasted Tomato Sambal Focaccia.

The Strawberry Passion was a 7/10, very delicious with a passion fruit filling and a croissant-like texture.

The Sugared Donut was very simple, nothing too fancy, just a donut with no filling and sugar on top.

The Focaccia was OK, just a little kick of spice. It was a curry bread with tomato sauce.

I really liked the decorations and vibe of Rose Ave.
