First time going was Saturday. I was completely underwhelmed. Besides being so excited for the drive thru only to realize it was for digital orders only, the overall experience was horrible. I got there before 8pm, there were only about 2 people in line. I ordered the rice bowl. Immediately I noticed the food looked like it had been sitting all day. I started to walk out right then but thought it could’ve been over cooked/over heated as the steam flowed. The food station was unkept, hadn’t been wiped down all day just absolutely disgusting. I’ve never witnessed a chipotle so untidy. The counters, table and chairs were dirty. As my bowl was being made there was a lady with a bad attitude who took over for the guy who originally had my bowl because he seemed to be inexperienced and had the attitude of an overworked, underpaid employee. I asked for sour cream they were out, a lot of the sections were missing food, I asked for cheese and the lady rolls her eyes and says “we running out of everything” as she scraped the bottom of the container for cheese, lastly I asked for lettuce and she huffed, took my bowl away from the counter, which I’m almost sure wasn’t supposed to happen, and got lettuce from the back. While she was in the back I asked the cashier, who was also inexperienced, what time did they close and she said, “ummm 10 I believe” it’s barely 8pm and y’all are out of everything or is it in the back and yall refuse to make more? mind blown smh. The drink station was dirty and only 1 container had old juice in it. The silverware is almost hidden and was so dirty I didn’t even take a fork. I get home and the beans were mushy, the chicken was barely edible and cut wayyy too big and the veggies were soggy and overcooked. I also noticed what appeared to be a ripped piece of plastic in my food which looked like it had been bitten and possibly spat back out into my food, which I assumed came from the bag of lettuce the lady went to the back to rip open with her teeth over my bowl. These people are so unprofessional, untidy and uncouth. I don’t see this place lasting long.

This was a great experience with the new location. Our food was hot and delicious, bowls filled with all the good stuff. The staff was fast, friendly, and ready to help. I look forward to coming here again with my family (or on my own lol). Welcome To Claymont!

This new Chipotle location is honestly terrible. There’s barely any traffic, yet the workers still move painfully slow and give the tiniest portions I’ve ever seen. When I asked for a normal portion, they gave me attitude like I was bothering them.
The worst part? I found many small avocado skin/peels mixed into my food (photo attached). Totally disgusting and shows zero care in food prep.
Between the slow service, bad attitude, tiny portions, and foreign objects in the food, I’m definitely not coming back.

I came in around noon on my break, the employees are friendly, had me in and out I can appreciate that I had a chance to sit down and enjoy my delicious food. The tables were clean. Utensil area was tidy. I ordered chicken Al pastor bowl with chips and guacamole 10 out of 10. I think I found my new break spot

We were so excited for Chipotle to open up close
To where we live so when they opened my family and I decided to order take-out for dinner. What a waste of money this was. They were just about out of everything and it was only 7pm. We asked for sour cream and was told that we could get sour cream from the food lion grocery store that is in the same shopping center. I asked if they were going to bring out more food and they shrugged their shoulders and said that they weren’t bringing anymore food out. This entire staff needs to be gutted and start from scratch. Sorry not sorry. I decided to try and go there 2 more times hoping that maybe it was just the wrong shift manager or wrong time of day that we had such a bad experienced but unfortunately the service and food did not improve. I’m hoping that enough people save their money from this location that they will do an overhaul of the management and staff because that will be the only way that this location will improve. Save your money and go to concord pike if you want to enjoy your meal and not throw your hard earned money down the drain.

Absolutely AWFUL service. Placed an online order at 6:15 to pick up at 6:30. The order still wasn’t even started after 7. The employees were just standing around. Left the restaurant and called customer service and was able to get a refund. Don’t waste your time going here- go to El Diablo instead.

The employees here are terrible. Unprofessional and rude attitudes and the older lady that was preparing my wifes bowl laughed at her because she asked a question about the sauces. It was my wifes first time trying Chipotle and the lady serving us was bothered by a simple question. The worst part was how dirty and unkept the placed looked. The food station looked like they had a food fight. Lettuce everywhere, they dont wipe anything down and clean up after themselves. Sad that a new place like this is going down the toilet because of the employees that they hired. It’s bad enough that Chipotle is greedy and stingy with their portions and nickle and dime you for everything. We won’t be returning.

I have been a long-time Chipotle fan, but this location is a prime example of why it has gone downhill. I figured a brand new location would at least try to make up for the company’s declining reputation, but I was definitely mistaken.
The portions were comically small: a chicken burrito with guacamole yielded about four tiny cubes of chicken and less than a teaspoon of guacamole (and I’m not even exaggerating). It seems that the staff really wants this franchise to close within a year of opening, and I hope it does. Claymont deserves better.

Rude attitude. I went to get Chicken burrito. In the container very few chickens are there . They guy was scratching the container and picking the pieces of chicken from the side. I told him get fresh chickens. He agreed and try to get chicken. A Lady employee(may be manager) was watching this and told him not to bring too much chicken. After bringing the few pieces of chicken he is asking that lady , ” this much is enough?” she said yes. Deliberately they are insulting customer. Their faces are angry and not smiling. When I went to pick up fork , the places were dirty and water and papers spilled every where. May be race related anger . I am not sure . Stay away as much as possible.
