My dinner companion was interested in a fried haddock, but she has a seafood allergy. When the server was advised of this, she checked with the chef to see if this option would be safe for her. It wasn’t as shrimp was also fried in the oil. She ordered the broiled haddock instead and deemed it delicious. I ordered the pork shank. It was very well seasoned and tender. I would recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again to try other menu offerings.
We were heading out for a casual dinner, originally planning to hit Ruby Tuesday’s. But as we turned onto US 40 from Winchester Road, my wife looked over, saw Henny’s, and said, “We’ve talked about it forever. Let’s finally try it.” We pulled in — and that decision turned a routine dinner into an unforgettable evening.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like regulars. The friendly, attentive staff made us feel instantly welcome — and the menu? Loaded with options that scream comfort, flavor, and quality.
My wife ordered the New York Strip — a beautifully cooked, bold-flavored, hand-cut 10 oz. steak grilled to perfection. Add in a baked potato and a fresh salad, and she was in steakhouse heaven. She didn’t speak much after that meal arrived… and that’s how I knew it was that good.
I went with the salmon fillet, and it was outstanding. Lightly seasoned, broiled just right — tender, juicy, and rich with flavor. It came with a baked potato and applesauce on the side, which was great — but what really put it over the top was the hot melted butter they brought out with the salmon. That’s a thoughtful, flavorful touch most restaurants skip — but it made a big difference and showed the level of care they put into every plate.
Henny’s isn’t just good — it’s the kind of place that reminds you why you love local dining. Quality food, warm service, and a menu that delivers every time. We won’t just be back — we’ll be back often.
If you’re from the area and haven’t tried Henny’s yet, don’t make the same mistake I did. Pull in, sit down, and prepare to be impressed.
