Bring a trailer, some rope, and a ramp. Youre going to need to roll yourself out after this place.
The burger? Phenomenal. The potato soup? Samwise Gamgee worthy.
Youre just going to have to try it for yourself. One of the best Ive ever been too. Luckily, I had a decent drive back home. It gave me time for all my food to digest. I dont think I even ate dinner that night, I was still full from lunch.

The Dolly reuben was outstanding! The potato salad was just right!! The coconut cake was by far a simple, downright, delicious piece of cake!! Can’t wait to try the other sandwiches, especially the burnt bologna, and all the other 10+ cake options!! Service was spot on perfect! She even cut our whole order in half for me and my husband! God bless y’all and your business! Thank you!

High fives all around!!!’ We had loaded potato soup, tomato bisque, grill cheese and the patty melt. The fried pies were amazing!!! Check out the awards on the door This is a hidden gem in small town. The staff was upbeat and friendly. We had family from Washington state, we just lucked into this amazing place. Was absolutely worth the drive out of the way to go to this shop for lunch!!! We had the special (can’t even remember the name of it now) and a patty melt, then ordered an ugly cake and peanut butter pie to go. Every bite was to die for! It smelled so good when she brought it to our table that I actually forgot to stop and take a photo before devouring half of it. It was so filling that we had to take dessert home for another day… Which also was to die for!
I recommend the drive out to see Heidi and her shop!

Heidi’s Ugly Cakes is a charming small cafe with a make-yourself-at-home atmosphere. We had the Reuben with a side of potato salad and the Wilbur with chips, both of which were served on jalapeno cornbread with a pickle on the side. Our sandwiches were delicious! The Wilbur was loaded with flavor from the fried ham, bacon, grilled onions, and spicy mustard. The owner, Heidi, was busy making her homemade fried pies and couldn’t have been nicer! The peanut butter pie was amazing, and we took some fried pies to go. What a find!

Amazing home made sandwiches & bakery!
I am grateful we found Heidi’s. It’s a hidden gem!
The fried bologna & Reuben sandwiches were fantastic; just look at the thickness of the bologna. Heidi makes it anyway you like it, and for me it was worth cheddar tomatoes & pickles-YUM! The Reuben was great to, with all that gooey cheese!
There bakery is great as well! We tried the homemade cinnamon rolls, the blueberry pie, the creme & the chocolate chip cookies. By the way, Heidi’s also has sugar-free desserts! Amazing!
If you go down to Norfork/Mountain Home to go fishing, visiting Heidi’s will make your trip. Highly recommended for lunch & dessert. A Military/Veteran’s discount is also available.

⭐ 1 Star Review: Very Disappointed
I was really looking forward to enjoying my meal, but I was shocked to find a bread tie floating in my soup. This isn’t just unappetizing — it’s a serious food safety issue. Accidents happen, but something like this should never make it past the kitchen. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews their food preparation procedures. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won’t be returning unless I see clear signs that food safety standards have improved.

okay so we drove through this little town after we left another little town looking for food there were only a couple options one had already closed for the day at 1:30 and this was one of the two options left at first we were like I don’t think so but my husband was starving so we went ahead and went in… Good thing we did.
hottie actually is the owner and operator of ugly cakes and sandwiches and while the weight is kind of long to get your order in during peak times and getting your food it’s worth it.
One thing you won’t want to miss is the potato salad this is some award-winning State Fair level potato salad. I chose to get a hamburger my husband got a sandwich can’t remember which one he got because I had quite a few just odd combinations whatever but he really enjoyed it quite a bit and my burger was good.
we also had a couple hand pies while we were there he had cherry and I had blackberry and they were both excellent.
If you happen to chance through here between mountain view and mountain home definitely give it a stop and get a bite
