Stopped in for an afternoon coffee while visiting. The charm of the building definitely drew us in, but the experience was just okay. The coffee was mild and not particularly memorable, I could hardly taste the flavor in my latte. The furniture inside was uncomfortable and extremely worn. The interior could use a lot of help and cleaning. The vegan blueberry muffin was pretty good but served ice cold.

This place was recommended to us so we headed in while visiting family in Chattanooga. We had a sausage egg and cheese croissant and a bacon egg and cheese croissant. They were decently good, not outstanding. We were told to have some pastries, but weren’t feeling like a sugary breakfast. They did look delicious! Next time we are in town, we will for sure head in to get a sampling of their sweet offerings. Hip and cool vibe in the coffee shop. Parking on the street.

Coffee is usually fine. Food is not great. Just got a breakfast plate and the scrambled eggs were literally cold – colder than room temperature. Seems like they cook a big batch of scrambled eggs once a day and warm them up when people order eggs (unless they forget to)

This place caught my eye!
When I first walked in, I felt a lot of soft energy in here. Very authentic and clean place! The service was spectacular and I got their espresso with cream and sugar which was $3 and it was amazing.
Water is also available as you first walk in along with the condiments.
Love this place!!

Stopped by here before getting my son’s haircut next door. Very cozy little coffee shop. Everyone was nice and worked quickly. My son was a big fan of the MASSIVE cookie and I got a chia latte which was also good.

Amazing breakfast! I got the salmon bagel and it was sooo good. It had smoked salmon, arugula, tomato, and feta cream cheese. We also tried the quiche and avocado toast. Those were both amazing as well! The Golden latte, made with turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, and coconut milk was surprisingly good! It was a nice change from a normal latte. You can also get espresso added to it!

Mean Mug was the first coffee shop I ever visited in Chattanooga, long before I lived here. Now it’s where I send people too. The staff is unwaveringly kind and personable—like every single one of them. The genuine, friendly interactions with the staff are refreshing. Both the product and the people leave me smiling. Mean Mug’s coffee is delicious and the food is far above most coffee shops.

Really lovely location, easy to order a bit of food and hang out for a while. Ok will say, I tried a horchata steamer and it didn’t taste the way I thought it would, but it was still good! I think I’ll try a chai latte next, they looked really good.
EDIT: Came back for breakfast – I still don’t love the coffee here, but the atmosphere is nice. I sprung for a sit-down breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, grits, and a biscuit. Biscuit is absolutely massive, and the rest was just ok – I would have preferred my bacon much, much more crispy. Overall, it’s a nice attempt, it just doesn’t deliver.

Overall a good place! Latte was standard and Strawberry White Chocolate Mocha special was better. Breakfast was good, bacon was chewy (not cooked long enough). Biscuit was good but more of a cornbread texture. Service was good, although when I had to go back up the lady I asked for preserves for my biscuit was a bit rude.
Overall good place to eat and pick up a quick coffee, very busy on a Sunday morning. But they handled it well.

I got the nitro cold brew latte and for $6 is was a let down, more like 3 stars, however usually the coffee and lattes are very good so I gave it overall 4 stars. The cafe is beautiful and has a nice indoor seating area.
