I recently discovered a hidden gem that serves Nepali and Indian food. The quality of the food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. Unlike some overhyped Nepali and Indian restaurants, this place truly exceeded our expectations. It was recommended to us by someone, and we decided to give it a try – and we’re so glad we did.
I highly recommend trying their momo, chicken chilly, noodles, chicken choila, aalu, and Kashmiri naan. The Kashmiri naan, in particular, was absolutely amazing.
You should definitely check out this place.

After a long day, we decided to try something new and ended up at “Star of India,” an Indian restaurant I hadn’t even heard of in my three years of living in this town. To my surprise, I learned that this restaurant has been around for decades. Perhaps I’ve been completely unaware all this time!.We ordered the $15 combo lunch, which turned out to be an incredible deal. The meal started with samosas and pakoras, followed by lamb curry, chicken tikka masala, naan, and a generously portioned bowl of rice that even satisfied my friend’s big appetite. From the first bite, every dish was simply heavenly. The flavors were rich, the food was perfectly cooked, and the quality of the meat was excellent—there wasn’t a single thing to criticize. Interestingly, this Indian restaurant is run by our Nepalese owners, and I’ve heard their momos are fantastic. I can’t wait to try those on my next visit!

It is always heart warming to come back to a familiar restaurant and have it be just as wonderful as I recall. The warmth and special taste of Star’s food is as distinct as they are comforting. Everything is always made fresh as can be by the talented chefs. The care and love put into this food are apparent even through take out only.

After 6 hours of Business meeting, we were starved and hunting restaurant around us. First, we were not sure that place was good because our eyes went in yelp review.
We were so glad we picked this place for our dinner. Food was great. We taste almost everything. My pick was chicken tikka masala, rice, raita, and carrot pudding (Gajjar Halawa). We wanted to taste max dishes; we ordered varieties so we could share. We were mixed colored and society people. All our Chinese, African, Jamaican, Indian and Nepalese friends were so happy with their friendly service, clean, well-lighted dining and bright walls.
I strongly recommend everyone to visit the Star of India and try their food if you are around. It’s worth driving few minutes for your great food. See you guys after 2 months again.

My favorite Indian restaurant. I’ve tried so many all over the state (and a few out of state) but no one else compares. It sucks the buffet is only on the weekends now but that’s the way to go here. If you’re interested in trying Indian food but don’t know what to get here’s a quick starter list to help you out:
Tandoori chicken: essentially Indian bbq. They take the chicken and rub spices on it then cook it in a clay oven. That’s the red drumstick you see in the pics.
Chicken Tikka Masala: cubes of chicken cooked in a creamy tomato sauce. Great for dipping you naan in and over rice.
Palak Paneer: cubes of Indian cheese (imagine a kind of firmer mozzarell) mixed in with what’s kind of like their version of a creamed spinach. Fantastic.

Very tasty North Indian buffet at a reasonable price ($9.95). All of the food is fresh, well-spiced, and tasty. At the buffet, they have salad, an appetizer, soup, basmati rice, biryani, 3 vegetarian entrees, 2-3 meat entrees, and dessert.
The selection is good for the price, and the food quality is above average for a buffet. The saag paneer and begun bartha was delicious.
The service is good and the staff are nice and friendly.
Star of India is a great option for a reasonably priced all you can eat Indian Buffet.

I had the Curry Goat mild, and had the mild version. It was pretty good although the meat could’ve been a little more tender. And that was the reason for my 4 star rating. Garlic nan was good, and the service was also good.
