I was taken to Carnivor & Queen on 10/11/25 for my 58th birthday. The atmosphere is great. As for the service not so much. Under staffed. From the reviews I have read after going to the restaurant I read many saying the same thing. Three of us had Dinner club off the menu. Every course took way too long. The courses was very good. As for the main courses one had the Beef Wellington the other had the Beef Bourguignon and I the Steak. Their dishes were very good. As for my steak. Not so much. Now having friend who one of the owners of Morton Steak house and Hugo’s Frog bar and have eaten at both many times and being from Chicago and going to other steak houses. I was very disappointed with my steak. It was a “aged” fatty steak. Thoes who I came with witnessed what was in front of me. At that point we were ready to leave. We were there for three hours. Our renovation were at 5pm. The server was so slow by 8pm we still not had desert. We paid our bill and took are desert to go.

Our experience was a lack luster one.

First, the overall dinner was pretty good except for one big item for us, the scallops. We went here specifically because we heard great things about the scallops and had a craving for them. When they were brought to the table we were very disappointed in them. There was no sear, they seemed like they were boiled, they were rubbery, and seemed a little small for jumbo sea scallops. For $47 for this dish I expect a lot more quality than what we got.
Need to continue looking for a new place for good scallops because this is not it.

Everything was great! The beef wellington was delicious, the dessert was decadent, and our server was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend

I haven’t had beef Wellington this great since Chef Louis’ The Bakery on Lincoln Ave in Chicago – it was delicious. The cocktails were far superior to any place in the suburbs. All spirits are local. Best gin ever. From the moment we stepped into the door until the moment we left the service was outstanding – warm, hospitable and polite by everyone but mostly our server Brett. The relish tray is a must. A very unique restaurant experience with great food. Everything is fresh and flavorful. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommend. Wish I could give ten stars.

What a cozy, beautiful, fun and absolutely delicious restaurant! My husband and I came here for the first time to celebrate my birthday and it was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and one of the owners stopped by our table. The restaurant was very clean and elegantly decorated. We recommend any wine from their around the world collection as well as the rose martini. Stuffed mushrooms, fish and pasta were amazing just a bit big portion on the pasta. Dessert super good as well! Just everything was top! Highly recommend such a great time. Thank you!

Found a little gem in the suburbs. These dishes legit belong in the city night life. The flavors were so on point, and the ambiance of the place is not too shabby either. Their plates are a bit weird, but I was told they are donated, which added to the whole story of the place. The server was phenomenal and got to meet the chef, and I gotta say, hats to you, my good sir and your co-chef wife. Will definitely be back again for the steak ones I get my dentures situated.

Overrated.

It’s definitely not worth the price. My husband and I both agreed you could have better at Ted Montana’s Grill.

Small portions. Taste wasn’t bad, but it’s just not comparable to nearby places for the price. We left still hungry and we spent almost $300.

Service took forever. Granted, we went on Valentine’s Day weekend.

Highlight was the soup. Disappointed in the steak. Again we’ve had much better elsewhere.

I gave this 1 start only for the ambiance of the inside. It is nice. However, we had a 7pm reservation on Christmas Eve & I was texted & e-mailed & called more than once to ensure that my wife & I still intended to keep our reservation of which we were. But when we arrived, the bartender was also waiting tables because they were short-staffed & he used his pocket knife to cut a straw in half to stir my wife’s drink. That’s when we knew we were in for problems that night. We heard the table behind us complaining about waiting an hour for bread & learned that the menu was a fixed special menu. The fixed menu was not advertised anywhere on their website, Open Table or in the reservations. We asked for a manager & the manager said it is true that they were out of a lot of items on their consolidated special Christmas Eve menu & that they were very short -staffed & is taking a long time to serve what they had left. The manager said the owners were in back cooking & that the manager had no way to make any concessions for the poor service & lack of food on the menu. No announcements made to anyone who just arrived or to us, yet they sure made an effort to make sure we were coming by phone call that day & multiple text & e-mails. Seems to me that if you have reservations & they confirmed they’re coming you’d have enough food from the special consolidated menu to serve them & the appropriate number of staff there. So sadly it was our 1st & last time there.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal. I got the chicken cordon bleu, which was amazing and incredibly flavorful. The Queen’s Ruby Martini was also excellent and easy to see why it’s recommended. You can really tell how much thought and care goes into the dishes here.

It’s a nice little restaurant in Downers Grove close to Dairy Queen. I like that they do outdoor dining in the summer time. We got a good table close to the window and the area was beautifully decorated. We ordered white truffle 3 cheese stuffed mushrooms, double cut veal chop, prime bone-in ribeye, key lime pie. I loved the mushrooms and they were delicious, but I’m not sure I’ll pay $19 for them again. ⅗. I enjoyed the veal chop and the lump crab was a nice addition to it. Meat was flavorful but it could be a little more medium rare. ⅘. The prime bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare. It cuts like butter. 5/5. Key lime pie was the most memorable and I would gladly pay $12 for that. Good amount of tartness and the nuttiness gave it that extra amount of crunch. 5/5. Service was fantastic. Overall ⅘.
