What an absolute gem of a place!! We moved here from New Jersey, and as a picky NJ Italian eater, this is some of the best Italian food we have found in Michigan! It is not near where we live, but if we are within an hour, we make sure to get here! Tonight we had some wonderful mussels and fantastic pistachio cannolis! The service is great too – so friendly and accommodating!!

Ordered a pizza last night and it was made incorrectly and also burnt to the point on the bottom that it wasn’t edible. At those prices, you really should pay better attention. Also, stop rushing people off the phone and let the customer finish their sentence before you talk over them and then maybe the pizza might’ve been made correctly. Unfortunately, I gotta find a new pizza place now.

Johnny’s in Torch Lake is a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of an up-north bar. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The friendly locals were incredibly inviting, making it easy to strike up conversations and feel like part of the community.
While parking was a bit tricky, it was a small price to pay for such a fantastic experience. The highlight of our visit was when a kind lady, as she was leaving, generously bought my fiancée and me a shot—what a thoughtful gesture that added to the friendly vibe!
Jason, the chef running the kitchen, took the time to come out and greet us, which really personalized our visit. It’s not often you see such dedication to customer service. The food was exceptional, with a menu that truly highlights local flavors. If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, friendly faces, and an authentic atmosphere, Johnny’s is the place to be. I can’t recommend it enough, and I can’t wait to come back!

Don’t waste your time. We did a carry out so MAYBE it would be a better experience in the restaurant—however—we just paid $100 for terrible food. The chicken and fries had no seasoning whatsoever. The spaghetti was very mediocre (and $25). The whitefish plate had no flavor, a hard baked potato with nothing on it and some veggies (again with no flavor or seasoning). It also had a fish bone in it. We also ordered a molten cake and this is what we received. A soggy, melted, and extremely hard bowl of mush.

Decent spot all around. We all had pasta, everything was fine, not great, not terrible. Prices are good for the largish portions. Service was speedy enough, not pushy, not “where the heck did they go?” Music was just starting as we left.
