I ordered catfish and when the plate came out the fish was **raw in the center**. Not slightly underdone, but visibly raw. I brought it to the manager and showed her the fish so she could see the problem.
Instead of apologizing or offering to remake the meal, she insisted it wasn’t raw. Her exact response was that if I got sick I should “go to the hospital and then go to the health department and report it.” She did not introduce herself, did not offer a refund, and did not offer to replace the food.
Serving raw fish is a serious food safety issue, but what was even more concerning was the complete lack of care from management. A simple apology and remade dish would have solved the situation. Instead, I was basically told to deal with it myself if I got sick.
Between the food safety concern and the way it was handled, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. I would strongly suggest management take food safety and customer concerns more seriously.
I brought it to the manager’s attention and showed it to her. Instead of apologizing or offering to remake the meal, she insisted it wasn’t raw. Her response was shockingly dismissive. She told me that if I got sick I should “go to the hospital and then report it to the health department.” No refund was offered, no replacement meal was offered, and she never even introduced herself.
The lack of concern for food safety and customer service was honestly unbelievable. Serving raw fish is bad enough, but the way the situation was handled made it even worse. A manager should care when a customer brings a legitimate issue to their attention, especially when it involves food that could make someone sick.
Between the raw food and the manager’s attitude, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. I will not be returning.
She was SO attentive, and her suggestions for each course were honestly the cherry on top. I basically needed a poncho if there was any chance of leaving Hook & Reel without seafood shrapnel everywhere. Flossers, a Tide-to-Go pen, and elbow-length gloves are the only things that could’ve made this experience even better.
Definitely will be back. The value was on point..service level, quality, and portion size all hit.
