The server Jimeesha was very knowledgeable of the menu and even offered samples to help me determine the best bowl to build for my lunch. She even recommended a mix for my lemonade drink and her overall customer service exceeded my expectations. The restaurant is located in the Rivercenter Mall so there isn’t much to say about the atmosphere. It’s a mall. The food was exceptional for the price, but whoever the manager or boss was..they were quite unpleasant and unfriendly. It’s still worth a try.

20 fl oz bottled water
Total meal cost: $18.94
The food was delicious. Never had grits made like this (savory), I normally like em with sugar. But now I don’t think I could go back. Warm, buttery, creamy grits topped with grilled chicken and a tasty southern cream sauce, i almost started floating out of my chair. Perfectly sized bowl/portion for me as well, didn’t feel hungry afterwards. Would come again.

This was my first visit or experience at this establishment The location is only open 3 days out of the week, but when I arrived it was closed with a sign on the door be back in 7 minutes keep in mind I was not the only person there waiting, ..for my taste buds I like spicy to mild, but every item was pepper(with heat) to much curry seasoning and too much paprika or cayenne pepper for my taste buds- I will note the shrimp was cooked to perfection, moist not dry, I had the shrimp gumbo and for a second dish I had rice, shrimp and the Cajun sauce bowl, there where 2 choices of sauce, unfortunately they where out of the creamy sauce, but the rice in the gumbo too salty lots of pepper, the rice and shrimp bowl too salty lots of peppery heat, the food needed flavored layered into it..There’s no sitting, order and go style restaurant not my personal favorite but convenient for busy schedules

Listen!!!!!!!! I’ve read many reviews about this place and had to come try it for myself today.
Southern Grit did not disappoint and the owner Drea was freaking amazing.
The grits were buttery, and packed with so much flavor I really had to pause and just savor the moment . I added two proteins, shrimp and chicken and those were each flavored deliciously as well. The flavor was all that I was hoping it would be
There are three sizes, so you can choose whether to make it a meal or just a snack.
The menu as seen in the pics is very limited , but if you love shrimp and grits this will be satisfying.
If you’re downtown or like me, just seen all the amazing post about this place and wanted to come try it come on out.

Forget about all the gimmicks and tourist traps on the Riverwalk. This is the place to go. Jamesha (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was super kind and let me sample their grits. She put the Cajun sauce on it. That was incredible. I wound up buying a Super Bowl with shrimp.
Also got their peach tea. This place is super amazing and the services incredible. As far as I’m concerned, this is the only place worth eating at on the Riverwalk that isn’t a tourist trap. Conveniently located in the mall and just a few steps from the Marriott, which is attached to the mall. You can even dine with a view of the river if you get the right seating

This location is inside the Shops at Rivercenter Food Court. I met the owners who were very friendly and offered many free samples to taste. I instantly fell in love with the grits! They are so buttery and flavorful! All the proteins, including the fish, chicken, and fish, really looked delicious! I ordered the fish and grits (Swai) ultimately. The fish was a great complement to the grits. They are military friendly, too.

It’s in the mall, so the atmosphere is just loud, but that’s not his fault. The food is phenomenal! I had the grits with shrimp and cream sauce and it did not disappoint. The texture of the grits was perfect and the flavors worked together so well. And I washed it down with a peach tea that had a very bold peach flavor.

I had the grits with cream sauce, and chicken. It was AMAZING! The grits were buttery and flavorful, sauce was soooo yummy and chicken super flavorful as well. The service was amazing, staff was so helpful. The strawberry lemonade was also so bomb. Honestly the BEST grits and lemonade I’ve ever had!!

Amazing food for a food court! Inside the mall that is connected to the Marriott was a great recommendation by one of the employees. Literally of the places I was at to eat this was by far the best! If you get near one of these locales try it!
