We came here to celebrate our anniversary while we were in town, and I wish we hadn’t.

It took forever to get seated and acknowledged. Then, when she finally took our order, the first thing she said was, “What can I get for you? And don’t say the prime rib.” I responded, letting her know that I can read, but if it’s such an issue that servers feel the need to say that, maybe the menu should be changed.

When we received our food, it wasn’t cooked how we ordered it. I ordered my burger medium well, and he ordered his steak medium – it seemed like they swapped how we wanted each item cooked. Our waitress was hard to find, so we just ate and dealt with it.

The final straw was when we went to leave. After the waitress brought our check, we couldn’t find her to pay the bill – after waiting for 15 mins, we ended up flagging down another waitress to leave the money with her. Once we walked out, our waitress was at the front desk talking to another employee. The quality of the service and food did not match the money spent.

I rarely leave reviews and am almost never truly impressed by a burger. That said, the steakhouse burger was in a league of its own. This was possibly the best burger I’ve ever eaten. It was simply constructed, with a perfect balance of seasoning, sauce, meat temperature, and toppings. This is a burger I would gladly travel hours to eat again. Thank you for such an unexpected experience.

The food was good and the people were very friendly. The menu was extremely limited for me as the restaurant was essentially a steakhouse, and there were very few offerings for a vegetarian. The waitress recommended the Mac and cheese and the garlic fries. The Mac and cheese was tasty, but I wish she would have warned me about the portion size. This was a side dish designed to be shared by the table. It was huge. The portion of fries was the same. My wife had the salmon again and enjoyed that, as she had before. The hotel, restaurant, and bar areas are just beautifully decorated in antique furnishings. The old vault section of the hotel is set up as a small museum featuring the history of the hotel, and there are pictures of celebrities with old, canceled, personal checks scattered throughout the corridors.

We stayed across the street at the Belvada Hotel. This hotel, restaurant and the Belvada, along with the Brewing Company in town are owned by the same family, vintners from Sonoma County, California, of which we are familiar..
This place was recommended and there aren’t really many options in this town, basically in the middle of nowhere, NV.
The Mizpah hotel is a beautifully restored hotel as is the dining room. The setting does take you back in time and has a great ambiance and atmosphere.
We were there on a Sunday which a prime rib dinner is the special. The menu is pretty limited. I am sure it is hard to get consistent supplies here.
The menu for the prime rib special is confusing. It says comes with a choice of: French fries, whipped potato, seasonal vegetables, fresh baked dinner rolls. We asked what the seasonal veg was and were told “broccoli, it’s always broccoli”! We both ordered the prime rib with potatoes.
When our meal came the plates contained everything the menu said were choices, except the french fries.
Everything was pretty bland. The prime rib was tender but overdone and tasteless. The potatoes could have used some kind of sauce or gravy. Everything was barely warm, like it had been sitting on the plate for awhile.
The only good thing was the bottle of Mouvedre we ordered. All the wine is from Cline Cellars and not really marked up.
Waitress and service was good although she seemed kind of stressed since she was the only server.
Not really worth the price. Maybe other things on the menu would have been a better choice.

A very nice steak house located inside the Mizpah Hotel. There are approximately ten tables inside this relatively small restaurant and there is a small bar located at the front, when you enter the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, with an atmosphere which takes you back in time to the boom days of the miners. With magnificent wood paneling, stamped tin ceiling and the overall ambiance of days gone-by, this elegant restaurant makes for a perfect place to enjoy a spectacular meal. The prices are reasonable but are higher than most of the other restaurants in town. As for us, we loved the New York Strip and Filet Mignon steaks, and the service was very professional and responsive. Please note that the menu is extremely limited so you might wish to review prior to making reservations, which we would always recommend.

Yes. Please. And thank you. Transport yourself back to the turn of the century with an incredible meal! Every penny spent was WORTH it! I loved my shrimp cocktail but did not have enough discipline to take its picture. It was THAT good. The steak frites was on point, but the fries were NEXT level. When you taste them, you’ll know why. My husband also LOVED the Chicken Piccata- his favorite.

If you’re looking for a delicious gourmet dinner in Tonopah, this is the place to get it and I’m happy to say that they’re opened on a regular 5-9 pm basis now. Of course, if you’re just passing through town and want a good meal without having to sit down at a fancy restaurant, you can always order at the Mizpah bar and eat there. In fact, that’s what my wife and I typically do and in my opinion, the food is amazing. A bit pricey but I always find it to be delicious and well worth it. On our last visit, we split a Goldfield salad with a balsamic vinaigrette, crispy tortellini, an awesome ribeye and with a massive helping of garlic green beans that were to die for. You really can’t find dishes like this anywhere in town and for the most part, anywhere between Las Vegas and Reno. Needless to say, this is a place I would highly recommend.

This quaint restaurant is located in the Mizpah Hotel and is the perfect place to stop when traveling. The server was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. My partner is a steak snob and declared his meal to be excellent. I had the prime rib which was perfectly done. It was the best meal that we have had in a long time.

Outstanding steakhouse with a rich history and remarkable decor. The hotel’s historical aura and the town’s charm create a unique experience. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly and attentive to our culinary preferences.

Absolutely loved it. Met up with 6 friends, whom I see semi annually from all across the state. Had the Steak Frites (a sliced flat iron steak with sauce), cooked to order which came with fries. Split a Smoked Gouda Mac n’ Cheese. The atmosphere was great: old, dimly lit, velvet salon style with booths and wooden chairs. Early Roaring 20’s music played in the background. The service was excellent and not obtrusive. It was a great spot to catch up and fellowship with old and new friends. Will definitely return in 6 months when we meet up next.
