Loved the restaurant!!!! I came here pretty late because my flight arrive late in the evening and this was the only restaurant that accommodated me in the area. The host Suba is amazing and I will be forever grateful! The wine was top notch, food was sumptuous, and the dessert was amazingly delicious! The ambiance is soothing and comforting. The restaurant is in perfect location, not far from the busy tourist attractions. Great experience, and very thankful!

Banana Leaf in Antwerp was such a great find! The meat roll was awesome—so creative and tasty (not in photos). Spices were just right, not too hot, not too bland. The portions? Huge! Probably even bigger than what you’d get in India.

The curries were all different, not the same sauce in every dish like some places. Garnishing was spot on. The biryani? Pure South Indian style—flavorful and really well done. Only small thing, the meat/chicken in the sauce could be a bit more.

We almost didn’t go to them because of some silly negative reviews, but so glad we did! This is one of the best Indian food places I’ve tried in Europe. Even for a Tamil-owned place, they nailed the North Indian dishes too.

The hostess? She’s not your usual quiet type. She’s funny, bold, and super friendly. She even remembered a customer who hadn’t been there in months! Loved the food, portions and presentation. Definitely going back next time I am in Antwerpen.

A cute place serving delicious Indian cuisine. They have a variety of dishes ranging from north indian to south indian along with decent choices of deserts and drinks.

We had been there for lunch and tried garlic naan, veg makhani, dosa, and lassi. Food was prepared fresh and tasted great! However, we would have preferred some butter on the naan (it was a tad bit dry) and the chutney and sambar which came along with the dosa lacked salt.

The waiter was very friendly and greeted us well. Overall a good spot to try

Delicious, authentic Indian food (we ordered only south Indian food), lots of seating – especially loved the inner courtyard/terrace surrounded by plants, trees and shaded by umbrellas in case of rain, and excellent service. The owner was warm, thoughtful and catered to our requests like making our filter coffee stronger or getting masala for dosas on the side without any complaints or added costs. The masala dosas had caramelised onions inside, which was a great touch! The chillies on the chilly uthappam were legitimately spicy, which we as Indians loved, but others might want to keep in mind. Sambhar and chutneys were great. Chilly paneer had few paneer pieces but more salad which was a bit disappointing. We got individual dosas / uthappams, beers, and shared a bunch of starters which turned out to be both filling and economical. Would totally recommend when in Antwerp 🙂

I had an amazing dining experience at this banana leaf restaurant! The aroma of the spices, the freshness of the herbs, and the authentic presentation made me feel like I was back home. The biryani was beautifully layered with fried onions, mint, and a fluffy omelette on top. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and cooked with care. Highly recommended for anyone who loves real traditional flavours !

Despite being only half full, the staff seemed overwhelmed and service was disorganized. The food was well below average and lacked the authentic flavors you’d expect from an Indian restaurant. Sadly, it falls short of the standard set by others in the same category. Wouldn’t recommend – definitely not worth the hype.

Banana Leaf is my favourite Indian restaurant in the Antwerp area so far. It was our first visit. After the complementary papadums, we ordered the shish kebab, which was so tasty, full of flavour. As main course we had the butter chicken which was also delicious, the chicken was really tender and the sauce was nice and creamy. Perfect meal. Tip: ask for the mango lassi and garlic naan if you want the full Indian experience

Very disappointed with the food. We ordered three dosas and a kottu porotta. The food took almost 40 minutes to arrive, and when it did, the dosa was not crispy at all and the chutney was served cold. The kottu porotta was decent but a bit too spicy for our taste. Overall, we didn’t have a pleasant dining experience.

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for a while! It’s almost great. The food is really good, extremely tasty and deserves more than 5 stars! The portions are really good. The pricing is different on the menu than on the website. The staff is very polite and helpful but they don’t really attend your table too often. Sometimes you have to go and fetch them to ask for an extra drinks or to pay. Also, they got one thing wrong but it wasn’t a big deal. There is a nice courtyard in the back with tables, the atmosphere could be nice but it’s dead silent. Not sure why they can’t play any music there, even soft. Finally, there is a sort of pond in the back, which has no fish, it’s dirty and there is a dead mouse floating right next to your table. The interior looks very nice though! Overall, I will go back for sure.
