My family and I flew in early to Burbank airport. It was too early to check into our hotel so we decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat and try one of their viral, fruit mousse pastries. The bakery is less than 10 minute drive from the Burbank airport. It was not too busy on a Saturday around 11 AM, but there was a study flow of customers coming in to pick up their cake orders or to pick up a few pastry items. The employees were nice and knowledgeable about the bakery’s offerings. There are a few small tables with chairs to sit at to quickly enjoy your delicious bakery items, pizza, sandwich, coffee and/or other offerings.

We ordered the popular Armenian Pizza for lunch, the viral fruit mousse pastry (mango which is most popular) and a hazelnut eclair. Everything we had was delicious and highly recommended. Their many real-looking fruit mousse pastries are $10 each, but well worth the cost as they are delicious, not too sweet and very satisfying to cut/bite into.

If you are in the Burbank area and want to try something different or some more familiar food items, you should definitely come to Alta Dena Bakery. They are a solid 4.5 stars overall.

We visited from Altadena! I’d been curious about the fruit pastries, by the way, they’re absolutely amazing. The moment we parked and stepped out of the car, we could smell all the delicious treats. We were greeted by very friendly people, which made us love everything even more. We tried as many things as we could, including the sandwiches and great coffee, and we can’t wait to come back and try even more! ✨

What a great find for desserts and pizza/deli cafe. The main attraction for this place is the pastries and the mousses, all sort of fruits and the mushroom. They are so pretty and so edible! We ordered pretty much everything. Apple, mango, peach, mushroom, Napoleon and tiramisu. We also ordered the meat pizza and the signature pizza and the beef Shish sandwich. Pizza was good. The crust was crispy. The beef Shish sandwich is a bit dry. Definitely going to go back and try other pastries.

The food was pretty decent. A little pricey. We got the Instagram hyped fruit mousse. It was good. I would definitely go back to try other things. The atmosphere definitely feels family owned which is lovely.

Absolutely Recommend!
I was impressed by the variety of dessert options that were offered. We took a few different options from their dessert menu. Everything tasted great. Especially their mango and coconut cream desserts were delicious.
Then we saw that they were also serving wood fire pizzas. So we took three different types and the pizzas were really tasty.

Altadena Bakery & Cafe is more than it let’s on. Yes, it is an Armenian-run bakery and café full of those viral fruit things, cakes, pastries, coffee, and other sweet treats (much of which is seasonal). But it is also a quick-service restaurant with sandwiches, fries, and pizza.

I gave their Philly Fries a go and it was excellent. Fries topped with beef, cheese, mushrooms, peppers, and their signature sauce. I also tries one of those viral fruit desserts that I always see and selected Mango. It was delicious with a sweet candy shell around a white mousse and mango-fruit filling. Very rich. If you order one to-go, they’ll hold about an hour in the car before they start to melt.

The cooks and servers were so nice and helpful. In terms of atmosphere (at the time of writing this), they really decked the halls with Christmas decorations and trees. Very cute. There is a pretty strick operation to ordering: when you walk in, make a left to the bakery and grab a number (even if you’re ordering kitchen items). When you call up, place the order. Café items will be handed to you over the counter while the kitchen orders will call your name. It’s not as complicated as it sounds and they’ll help you if need be. It just gets really busy at times.

Can’t reccomend this place enough. Give it a try.

I was really excited to try this place because of the viral fruit desserts. I ordered a few different ones too try. The peach and mango were great, but the apple lacked flavor. I also ordered some assorted cookies, which were good. Although the desserts I bought were good the service and organization of the restaurant needs help. I was waiting to be helped for 5 minutes before someone said I need to order on the bakery side. I went to the bakery side to place an order and notice people grabbing numbers. So I get one, I’m waiting for my number to be called when I see a few people walking in and getting service before me. There was another gentleman next to me waiting and he asked if they are using numbers because he’s been waiting. The lady looked confused. Then started calling out the numbers. I wanted to order food but the lack of organization really irritated me. Probably won’t go back.

The pizza looked & smelled so good – but we were there for the beautiful fruit pastries.
They weren’t just super cool to look at, they tasted amazing! We ordered eight of them.
Almost missed our flight home but it was Definitely worth it. We bought a lunchbox and filled it up with ice and brought them home for everyone else to enjoy also.

Don’t think about it…go to Altadena Bakery, you will not regret it. Not only do they have these amazing confections filled with amazingly creamy, subtle sweet pastries, they have traditional middle Eastern sweet treats. Will definitely go back.

A fun stop for some unique treats. Lots of delicious looking options inside but we opted for the pear and raspberry. Can be tricky to cut as you can see but that’s all part of the fun!
