The food was the saving grace in this stop. I ordered the Rmblt with fries and my husband ordered the prime rib sandwich with fries. We both loved the flavors in our sandwiches— they each had a unique twist on a classic— the Rmblt had a yummy dijonnaise and the prime rib sandwich came with a creamy horseradish and spicy pickled pepper relish. And the fries were hot and crisp.
Service was a bit slow on this day…. we waited a long time after we were finished for our check. But, the waitress did seem like she had a lot of tables and was doing her best.
I would return to Round Man for another sandwich but I would pass on the beer next time.
Being here reminded me of what it’s like to be cared for as a guest and customer. It’s a lost art,… but not at Round Man!!
Don’t walk… RUN to Round Man!!
Wife and I split the following:
Wild rice soup: creamy and delicious. I thought I would get the majority of this but the wife loved it and I consumed maybe 35-40%. I’ll need more of their soup.
Salad: side salad was bountiful and not dumped out of a bag. Full of various chopped vegetables and nicely presented. Blue cheese dressing was nice and chunky.
Margarita pizza: thin cruse with Parmesan out to the edge such that it develops a nice, tasty crust. Everything on the pizza seemed fresh. Solid pizza.
The last two times we’ve been here the service has been pretty poor. Both times my wife and I cane on our way home from long work days so we weren’t dressed as nice as we could be. But we didn’t want to miss out on good food just for that reason. We are starting to wonder if this affected how we were treated.
We’ve almost left the last two times here as it took close to ten minutes to be acknowledged, and greeted by a server. The first time we were seated at a table, and when a waitress finally came over after 10 min. she did not apologize that it took so long just acted like this was a normal way to treat customers. The second time we were sat at the bar. We both waited almost 10 minutes for the bartender to come over, she never did until 5 minutes after the owner had taken our drink and food order. Which we assume he did because he had to bring food to the men eating next to us. It did not seem like it was his job, but rather that he was picking up the slack of the bartender. Then as we were wrapping up the bartender gladly rang up the tab but then never came to run our card. After another 10 minutes of playing a game called “Will she ever look this way again?”, we walked to the other side of the bar so she could ring us up even though there was a machine right next to us.
This lack of professionalism detracts from the great quality food.
Next time we will have to bring a change of clothes and see if that makes a difference.
It was clean. It was a quiet afternoon atmosphere. We did not eat, no rating on food.
It seems more restaurant than brewery, just my personal opinion and only based on one visit. They have what looks like a fine dinning room in the southern half of the building.
