A piece of good old Florida is still around? Yes, it is, we found it at #OkeechobeeFishCoRestaurant in, you guessed it, Okeechobee.
Order at the window, have a seat out at the picnic tables underneath the massive oak trees, and all weather shelter to wait for your food. It’s a steady stream of cars and people coming and everyone saying the same thing, this is the place to eat!! It’s inexpensive compared to any seafood place we have ever been to.
Order how you like it fried, grilled, or blackened. Comes with two sides of your choice. We ordered fried shrimp , buffalo shrimp and fried catfish. Everything tasted fresh and housemade. No boxes or microwaves in use here.
Make it a day trip. Jump in the car, sit back, relax, reconnect and explore South Florida. We went to Lake Okeechobee Park, where there were lots of people living their best life, exercising and keeping up with their New Year resolutions. We walked a couple of miles of the dike at Lake Okeechobee Park as we try to do at least once a year.
The towns around are small and laid back. Meander through the mom and pops and/or vintage store, or Eli’s Western Wear. Come and explore. Love old Florida.

The grouper had a light batter and was very good. The snapper had a panko batter and was fried too long turning the panko dark brown and greasy. You order and pay at the window and pick up at the window. There is a big tip jar at the window I guess for the cook? Because a server doesn’t take or bring your order to you. I have had better fish at other restaurants so I will not be going back here anytime soon.

Great food at reasonable prices! Freshest catfish you can find…..boat to plate ️ …….Awesome shrimp dinners as well with 2 sides……Fresh brewed sweet and unsweetened tea. Peel and eat 1# steamed shrimp with Old Bay and lemons is filling in itself with no sides. Weekly eats!

Always a awesome experience at Okeechobee Fish Company. Great food as always. Crowded today in the afternoon, swamp buggy group was hungry for a great meal and they chose Okeechobee Fish Company!! They know what’s good in town!! Went inside and purchased some large wild caught shrimp for a nice dinner. Menu prices are in the pictures if you are interested in the prices and what they have to offer. Cheesy grits were so good and some fresh catfish fried up was a great filler for lunch. Fresh gator bites and fried shrimp was great. Fried okra was so good. Girls are always so nice at the order window. Come and enjoy some great food on the side of the highway. Tell em John Spohn from Google Reviews got you interested and had to come try them!! Check out my pictures of the surroundings, inside and outside.

First time here! It won’t be the last time either! Everything is fresh and hot and homemade! Hush puppies were amazing, cabbage was so tasty, hush puppies were phenomenal, and okra was fantastic!

Wow, great dinner! Stopped on a whim and found a jewel. Shrimp scampi was very good and my husband enjoyed the fried oysters. A side of hush puppies is a must. Order at the outdoor window and outdoor seating. Tip, we took dinner “home” to eat and should have been more careful to not tilt the to go containers, coleslaw dressing ran everywhere.

in a word AWESOME. the service was awesome, the food was awesome, and the outdoor eating area was great I can honestly say, I t was the best meal (outside cruise ship or mom’s) that I have had, ever. The cheese grits were perfect. The green beans were amazing as well. Even the french fries were de-lish!

Okeechobee Fish Co Restaurant is always a great experience. The food is consistently tasty, and the shrimp is absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. It’s definitely a standout on the menu.
The atmosphere is also a big plus. When the weather is cool enough, sitting outside makes the experience even better and adds to the relaxed, enjoyable vibe.
Great food, great setting, and a place I’m always happy to come back to. Highly recommend!

I hate having to do this today, especially after coming here for years. We decided to give them a try again today after several previous issues the past 6 months. Today was now the 2nd time of ordering the shrimp scampi and the pasta tasted like dish soap and some of my boyfriend’s catfish was not cooked all the way. The time before this incident we ordered the fried platter for $24. What a waste of money that was. Pretty sad when you have to stop at another food place on your way home because they jipped you on your food. What they called Gator bites was very disappointing. We actually thought the 3 tiny pieces of fried crumble was from the fried fish and not what was supposed to be the Gator. I have ordered this platter many times before over the years and this time you could tell we didn’t get all of our food. The time before that I ordered one of their yummy Cuban sandwiches, that have always been good, to find a meal once again lacking on ingredients. I don’t know what has been going on but they have become hit or miss with a lot more misses and taking food back for a refund. There seems to be a lack of consistency since summertime . I hope they can get it figured out why some visits are great and some visits are failures.
