First time in and we were the only people. We ordered and we waited, as we were the only people there the food took longer than it should have. I assumed that maybe it was because everything was going to be fresh.
We ordered the Midwest’s Best and the Birdman accompanied by waffles and a side of the Tres Leches sauce.
The Birdman was ordered with white meat. No white meat arrived and the bowl was riddled with bones.
We asked our server if that was normal, she had to ask her cook which is fine as she wanted to get correct information.
The Birdman is made by using rotisserie chickens. They literally just pulled it apart and threw it in. If you like this then it maybe it’s okay. As for me it’s a no. If you have anyone dining with you that’s older or younger it may be a problem removing the bones from every bite.
The Midwest’s Best is a large chicken fried steak, Scrambled eggs and hasbrowns. The chicken fired steak was hard to cut through and super chewy. This meal is served on a try with paper. The paper becomes soggy and easily torn when trying to cut and scoop your meal on a fork. Be careful to not eat the paper. The hasbrowns are good. Scrambled eggs were bland.
Waffles are light and fluffy.
Server was friendly and efficient. Bathrooms are clean enough. The dining room has decent atmosphere, the music is loud enogh on a busy day it’d be too loud. The table areas were mostly clean but could use sweeping as there were bits of hasbrowns and food under feet.
Prices are fair for the portions.

We had breakfast here today on our way out back to Des Moines. We were so excited because the vibe was cool. But the food was SO bizarre. I feel terrible saying this but the food was like inedible for us? It’s like they accidentally used something they didn’t know was expired or something? The gravy was sour tasting and things were sweet that weren’t supposed to be. It was so odd. The presentation and menu idea was on point but idk… idk how to explain what happened to the food this morning. Our poor server was also by herself and running around like crazy!

Super delicious breakfast. I highly recommend the breakfast chimi. It was so good! Tons of flavor! The Salas Verde on it was fresh and so tasty. I could have taken down a bucket of it! It’s a must go to for a reasonably priced breakfast!

Waste of money, if you thinks it’s anything like jojos in benson it’s not. Biscuits came with just gravy no sausage and barely any at that. cold soggy bacon with cold hash browns. Learned my lesson and won’t be back.

Absolutely horrible. Arrived with a party of 5 and were seated at the bar promptly. Bloody Marys sounded good but they had no mix. I ordered chicken fried chicken/over easy/hash browns crispy. Chicken was decent. Tough but good flavor and hot temp. Eggs were very cold and hash browns very soggy and cold. I don’t return food at restaurants, but didn’t finish mine. No opportunity to even mention it to our server because she mostly avoided us. Next friend ordered biscuits and gravy with bacon. Biscuits were cold and the smallest portion I recall ever seeing. He sent his back and received the same thing. Next 2 in our group ordered chicken fried steak and neither finished, both said it was cold, though and flavorless. The fifth in our party got the carne asada bowl and said it was ok but would never return again.
We were never once asked by the server if everything was ok, never checked on for anything, and she displayed a complacent attitude in her best moments. None of our families will ever return, and I suggest everyone else avoid JoJo’s as well!

Showed up with a group of 5. Got seated early and the place wasn’t busy but our server didn’t check on us often and seemed to be more Interested in the radio then our group. 2 people ordered biscuits and gravy with a biscuits no bigger then 2 inches across and it was cold and had to be sent back. The others got chicken friend chicken that didn’t have the crunch it needed though they said it tasted alright.
I got a Carne asada breakfast bowl and they forgot the asada part. It tasted like bland steak straps and they forgot the salsa it came with and my hashbrowns were burned.
It may be rude to say but this place wasn’t good at all. It looks better the the food tastes and to top it off they messed up our bills and charged my friend for someone else’s drink.
They failed on everything but the drinks.
Would not recommend. Stay away.

Very disappointing experience. We arrived around 10 in the morning and was told that they did not have coffee because none of the waitstaff knew how to operate the coffee machine.
They were later able to serve black coffee. Brought the coffee out, no creamer, or utensils. We had to ask the waitress to bring each of those things out. The table behind us was experiencing the same poor service. Ended up leaving after one cup of coffee. Do not come here if you’re looking for a good dining experience!

Food has a lot of potential but the cook is horrible. First set of pancakes came out so cold that the whip cream didn’t even melt then complained about remaking them, complained loud enough that we heard her at the table . Then the new ones was still burnt they weren’t edible. Chicken fried chicken was burnt the crust was hard Again not edible. Bad part of all this was we were the only two people in the building. I give it 3 stars because of the amazing waiter Autumn. She was so attentive and apologetic. I knew the poor experience was absolutely not her fault. So her tip did not reflect.The drinks she made us were really good! I would give it another try .

We went in for Sunday Brunch- The food was edible but had no flavor or seasonings. The staff seemed fairly new and didn’t even know what a “Michelob” was. We were then told they were out of champagne for mimosas, out of the on-tap beer that was on their menu, and out of breakfast potatoes. On top of that, we didn’t get silver ware until we asked for it and the waiters were not attentive. Needless to say, we don’t recommend this place at all.
