I’d been there once before and wasn’t overly impressed. Recently saw a positive review and decided to give another try. I was there early (right about 12 noon) and staff was just getting in their groove. I ordered a (lean cut) brisket sandwich. The amount of fat was so disgusting. I worked with a BBQ company for years. The fat cap of a brisket can be removed. In addition, the thickness of each slice could’ve been 3 slices if properly done. Picture shows amount of fat easily removed from a “lean cut” brisket sandwich that cost me $19.25

Burnt ends and fried okra are my go-to here. And I LOVE the redneck sauce. Service is always top notch – servers are always smiling and personable. It’s a comfortable, laid back spot for a delicious, reasonably priced meal.

Ordered the meatloaf platter for carryout and its was ready within the stated time. Consistency of meatloaf was excellent while I’m not crazy about the smoky flavor. Mushroom gravy was divine as well as the greens. Mac and cheese was the best I’ve ever had. Price was excellent for the portion size. Only suggestion is that I wish they had mashed potatoes.. Great place..

Just wanted to give praise to Hog Shack, located on 10470 Dumfries Rd. It is not often you get waited on by the owner of a restaurant! What a treat! Very nice man and extremely respectful! Helpful and not pushy to buy this or that. Gives you honest opinions and they are correct. 2nd visit here and had the owner here both times! Listened to him with other patrons – you want him working for you. Now let’s talk food. Tasty..and then some. Love the changes they have made to the interior as well. Love a good ol’ fashion jukebox! 10 out of 10. I will visit again. I recommend!

Ordered takeout from here today…was severely disappointed. The Mac and cheese was grainy and not that great. The cole slaw had celery in it? Weird. Fries were alright. Ribs and wings were dry and tough, and had a chemical taste?? Pulled pork was alright, brisket was ok but not super flavorful. Best thing we got was the cornbread. This meal was really expensive and really bad. Do not recommend.

If you like a creative menu and friendly people, this is the place! Came here for the first time in April and now at least once a week. So many good things to try, and great food. Notable items: Brisket Quesadillas, Fried Green Tomatoes, Cowboy beans, Mexican Street corn, Smoked chicken wings, Brisket and Pulled pork are awesome! Sunday’s they have a brunch to die for. Service is best in the area, and menu is vast! My kids love it, and I look forward to coming every time! Been here about 20 times and still haven’t tried everything. You gotta check this place out!!

So we’ve been in Manassas for 5 years and I’ve wanted to stop at Hog Shack many times. We finally went there today for late lunch. I truly can’t say enough about this place. The service was awesome. Andy was fantastic! The food was equally good. The whole family absolutely loved everything. Towels started with the poutine fries which were outstanding. My son ot the burnt ends sandwich and he’s extremely discerning (expensive taste, and high standards which I really don’t know why). He literally said this was the best meal he’s ever had. My wife got the pulled pork sliders with elote’ corn. She loved it, especially the corn. I got the Deuce which was spectacular. We’ll be going back for sure!
