Upon entering this establishment, I noticed the decor to be very rustic and authentic Mexican. We were seated immediately by a very friendly employee. We ordered sangria (one with red wine and one with white wine) and they were very good and very strong. Then we ordered the loaded nachos with ground beef and they were delicious. Our plates then came out and I ordered the Enchiladas Rancheras and my friend ordered combo #3. The food was good but nothing out of this world. It was nice to be in an atmosphere where the service was good and the people were nice. They answered all our questions patiently and with a smile. The bathrooms were super clean just like the rest of the restaurant. They advised us they will soon be remodeling and that another restaurant was opening in Union, NJ. The prices were a bit high but you leave there feeling full and happy. I would definitely go back and I recommend this place. This would be a great place to come for a nice quiet dinner or with a big party.

I’ve been in this restaurant several times and so far my experience had been great. The tacos, quesadillas and burritos are good. The margaritas, coconut and on the rocks also are very good.
The chips and salsa are very good.
The music is great. A lot of Spanish classics of all times.
Definitely recommend.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, Chapala Restaurant is a must-visit! Their homemade salsa is always fresh and flavorful, setting the perfect start to every meal. I’ve been here multiple times, and the consistency in quality and taste keeps me coming back.
My go-to dish is the Fajitas Chapala, and it never disappoints—the shrimp, steak, and chicken are always fresh and perfectly cooked. Their chorizo appetizer and guacamole are also excellent, and if you’re a fan of mole sauce, theirs is rich and full of flavor.
Beyond the food, the staff is incredibly friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere. They have music, a clean and inviting space, and spotless bathrooms. Plus, there’s plenty of parking in the back, making it a convenient spot to enjoy a fantastic meal.
Highly recommend Chapala for an authentic and enjoyable Mexican dining experience!

Excellent and authentic Mexican food from Puebla. Very clean and wait staff lovely. The corn tamales with chicken were perfect! Black bean soup was very tasty and not salty. Enchilada with tomatillo sauce was very good. Portions are huge. The mole sauce which they gave me a sample was really good. Great refried beans too! Highly recommend. Will be back again.

I’ve always doubted about going into this restaurant because it always looks empty and closed. But today me and my bf decided to go in and boyyyyy, what a good decision!
I ordered the chili (best one EVER!) and a trio combo. (One chimichanga, one flauta and one burrito) with refried beans and rice.
I have to say this is the closest to a real Mexican food restaurant I’ve ever been to. The flavors are really good, the portions are generous and the ambience really nice and welcoming.
There are 2 other Mexican places around but they don’t even come close to the flavors.
This is a great place and worth every penny.
I’m definitely coming back again.
Good attention, good food, good vibe.

Was excited to dine at Chapala Grill a couple of days back for dinner based on its rating, but the quality and taste of the food was disappointing. Specially the charbroiled pork chops were quite off the mark that I had to leave it back after a couple of bites. Service was okay but the items were a bit pricy. Good location. Best to read through all feedback and not just the overall rating before you decide to dine here.

This is what $40 gets you at this place. We ordered takeout and we were given a wait time of 2 hours (cinco de Mayo) which we were ok with. Picked up the food and the food was cold. These are the saddest looking tacos I’ve ever seen, they are just meat wrapped in a cheap thin tortilla. They also forgot to give us one of our sides. We tried calling them back but they refuse to answer the phone (or answering and hang up) because they are no longer taking orders today. We will never order from this place again.
The quality of the food was below average. The rice and re-fried beans had no flavor. The tacos could’ve been better. You’re better off going to another Mexican place if you want quality food at a reasonable price
