At our Spring Hill, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

It has been forever since I’ve gotten Captain D’s ever since the one in Cool Springs shut down. Decided to give this one a try. Food was average, as expected, but the staff was so friendly. Engaged in some nice chit chat while waiting on my takeout. The friendliness made this experience a good one. I’ll be back.

Green beans and broccoli were not hot. Fish was good. Restaurant was clean. Service was good. The chicken strips were not as advertised. See pics below. What you order vs what you get….. prices keep going up and value keeps going down. Owner misrepresents actual food offerings.

The place was clean. Price was reasonable. Crab cakes were awesome and I didn’t expect it to come in the shell. The hushpuppies were probably one of the best I ever had (which might not be saying much because I’ve only had hushpuppies a handful of times). They had more in them than just batter or cornmeal or whatever doughy stuff they use for hushpuppy batter.
The water from the fountain that day trickled, and it was faster to ask for a cup to be filled from behind the counter.
Their service is great at the counter. Bathroom and restaurant were clean.
My husband loved that the green beans were made with ham.
They did switch our sides up or our main platter up (whichever way you want to see it), but no biggie. The fries did not impress me and neither did the fried fish.
It was the hushpuppies and the crab cakes that got me .

As I proceeded to walk in, they were pretty busy. However, they took my order promptly. My food was ready in a fair amount of time. Moreover, my food was fresh and prepared just the way I liked it. Not to mention, I used to live in the area and would eat here often. Being that it’s not many around anymore, I make it my point to stop there every time I come to the area. They have not disappointed.

Ordered a 3 piece fish dinner in the drive thru, cost over 13 dollars, took over 25 minutes. Got home, only had 2 pieces of fish. Everything tasted fine, but half of the meal was cold. Will not give this location my business anymore.

I went through the drive thru to save some time. It took 5 minutes before anybody answered the speaker. I placed my order, pulled up to the window and paid. Sat at the window for 5-7 minutes before I was asked to pull forward to the end of the building. I don’t know what the employees are doing on the inside, but I will not be back.
