Don’t let the outside fool you—this place is a true dive bar gem and absolutely worth the visit! I’ll admit, I was skeptical when I pulled up, but once inside, I quickly saw why it’s a local favorite. Within minutes of sitting at the bar, I watched at least a dozen regulars stroll in, all confidently placing their go-to orders.
I went with the burger and upgraded to the fries—and trust me, get the fries. They were hot, crispy, and way better than the standard chips. I usually never finish my plate, but I devoured every bite of that burger.
If you’re in the mood for great food and don’t mind a laid-back, divey atmosphere, this spot won’t disappoint.

We ordered take-out at the bar on our first-ever visit to Marty’s. Authentic dive bar atmosphere, friendly bartender, accommodations in the front for families, and a 21 and over area beyond the bar with games and a couple of pool tables.
Food: I loved my BLT. It was on the small side, but a decent amount of B, and plenty of L & T to keep it fresh. My cohorts both ordered the Breakfast Burger. Expecting the egg to be runny like the photos we saw, and thinking the maple glaze would only be on the patty, they were not-so-pleasantly surprised when their eggs were very well done, and the burger bun was saturated in maple syrup. It had a McGriddle taste to it, but with a hamburger patty instead of a spicier sausage. The homemade chips didn’t travel well in a to-go container (2 miles away), but the tots were perfectly cooked and salted. The fries were alright, but nothing like the tots.

So, the food was good, I got the Marty’s burger and my wife got the breakfast bowl. The burger was really good, but not at 14 bucks. Now I know food cost are high, so it’s not the place just jacking prices. But it was a really tasty burger. And the chips were really tasty.

Great food! I will definitely be a repeat customer. I ordered the patty melt and fries and the chicken bacon ranch egg rolls. Both were very good and very filling. At the time, they were offering contactless pay and curbside delivery in an effort to keep customers and staff safe, which is appreciated. Overall great customer and great food equals “I’ll be back!”

A fun spot, felt like visiting my neighborhood spot, even though I was traveling. Friendly staff. My mom said the Fried Chicken Caesar Salad was the best she’s ever had. I got a fried buffalo chicken tender wrap, and it was delicious with homemade chips. We just so happened to roll up for Sunday event trivia at 6:30 PM. It was a lot of fun. I highly recommend Eagle’s Nest.

Second time coming here, solid place. Got the Dutch Boy burger last time and got the Goat Pepper this time. Goat pepper was a little sweet for me due to the jam, but that Dutch Boy burger was great. Good drinks and good house made chips. Nice staff. Gotta visit here if you haven’t.

This place is such a gem. By far my favorite bar in bham. The food is excellent. All the sauces are house made which really sets the sandwiches apart. The Mac burger is my favorite burger in the city. However the drinks are nothing to be played with. Generous pours and handcrafted cocktails. They can make just about anything. Everyone’s always friendly which is why I will always go out of my way to come here. This cocktail was the Madri gras bushwhacker. Taste just like king cake. The drink was amazing. Hurry before they run out!

Just discovered this little gem last Saturday and have already returned for a second visit. So far we’ve camped out in the “Burger” section of the menu — their renown seems well deserved — and have enjoyed the Goat Popper (twice), FGT, and Patty Melt, all excellent. Their proprietary creations are savory & memorable flavor combos. Glad to have this place in our own little Irondale.
