Didn’t realize it was a food truck but that didn’t seem to matter. Ordered pepperoni and mushroom and it came out about 5-6 mins. Perfect crust and sauce, sauce doesn’t have to have craploads of spices. There’s had quality tomatoes and salt from what I could tell.
I’m trying there margherita pizza next, good sauce cheese and basil. If you buy a margarita pizza with sliced tomatoes, it’s not a margarita. In my opinion that is.
Would give 6 stars if possible.

We felt like having pizza for dinner and thought to check out @mariosofnewyorkcity Mario’s Pizza and Wine Bar.
Dad had his Lemonade, and hubby and I had the Sangria. We ordered the Spaghetti with meat sauce for Dad. We also got Ham & Pineapple pizza and a Pepperoni pizza. House salad to share. It was lots of food and all delicious. Mary brought Gerry to visit our table.
@mariosofnewyorkcity is part of the San Antonio Gold Diner’s Program, and with the spin a wheel, we got the pepperoni rolls for free. So yummy!

If you’re considering dropping by you ABSOLUTELY need to! My husband and I just moved to the area and came across this place by chance and don’t know what we’d do without this pizza going forward. Tonight the staff seemed a bit stretched thin, but we still got everything we needed in a timely manner. We started with the Homemade Meatball Sliders and they melted in your mouth. The textures and flavors were amazing. The crostinis were crispy and had integrity but were so light at the same time. The meatballs were tender and coated in the most flavorful marinara. My husband and I couldn’t decide between the Capo and the Mario’s White Pizza so we got both and will absolutely enjoy the leftovers. I’m not sure how in the world I’m supposed to try different places when Mario’s is an automatic favorite. BRAVO!

Best pizza in town. This is family owned and amazing. True new York pizza, so rare to find and the dough is brought in from NYC, which is the secret as the water makes the dough. My daughter loves the spaghetti and meatball. My son loves the chicken parmesan. Salads and apps are great too.

My lovely wife and I stopped by for dinner after running errands and visiting friends. Gerry and Mary are gracious hosts, they are both very attentive to your needs and they remember your drink of choice. The pizza is top notch, the kitchen staff is a well lubricated cooking machine, they don’t miss a beat. I had the margherita pizza with calamata olives, excellent. Make the effort and drive the few short minutes for this wonderful establishment. You will not be disappointed.

DECEIVING REVIEWS! IF you are fortunate enough to find a bad review of this place I advize you to trust those hidden truths. I called the outside seating locating on 281 because they list it as strictly reservational seating, the woman on the phone replied yes you are welcomed to come it but told me that it was freezing outside… this turned me off because they didn’t see interested in first time customers. My family and I decided to give the place a shot and went in anyways. As I read the menu my mouth began to water, but I could not help but become distracted by the loud argument that the lady and Mario (the owner?) Were having about a cheese pizza. They conversation ended by her putting her food down and saying “I’m telling you no, forget about it.” Not only is it unprofessional to argue in front of customers but I find it hard to believe that the lady in the front truely knows about cooking with her heart. NOW THE FOOD. I understand putting basil whole leaves on a pizza for a picture but if you want quality food the basil would be best cutt up and distributed evenly over the pizza. My sister wanted meatballs on her pizza but the lady then said “we don’t have any because they are homemade and hard to keep up with. We didn’t have any yesterday either.” Mario then added that they were being made as we speak but I found that hard to believe since every employee was standing around waiting for my order to be placed. When we sat outside they were playing annoying music then a siren started interuppting the song periodically as I was trying to relax and take in the ambienc. There was a young man who came out and asked if we were eating here or to go, we replied for here. As they brought our food out to us it was placed in all to go containers. My family and I were confused annoyed and offended by the completely lack of friendly service and food that was prepared in a microwave.
TO THE OWNERS AND LADY ON THE PHONE: HORIBLE TERRIBLE DISGUSTING RUDE … THANK YOU FOR TAKING 65$ OF MY FAMILIES MONEY AND FEEDING US FOOD MADE WITH NO LOVE. IF YOU FIND MY REVIEW HARD TO BELIEVE I HAVE ATTATCHED PICTURES ON FOOD I PREPARE DAILY SINCE I AM TO IN THE FOOD SERVICE INDUSTY. Although the sauce is good, crust is very tough. Tasted like an old pizza. Chewy crust. Margarita pizza cheese was thick and wouldn’t stay on pizza. Very disappointing.

The OMG and and Gerry’s pizzas are family favorites for a spicy new take on some of your favorites. Pizzas are always accurate and efficient. The team there is so nice. Treat yourself. We are SO happy Mario’s came back! This is the best pizza in SA – hands down. The dough is flown in from Brooklyn, NYC and nothing can compare. The sauce is perfect – not too acidic, just the right amount of salt, and the flavor is authentic NYC Italian. They are former New Yorkers and their food is just excellent. Definitely do NOT pass this food truck up!!
