Rented 4 chairs on the beach- $25 each. Chairs were comfortable. We went here after seeking out Rainbow – Rainbow wanted $60 a chair with minimum purchase per person. Drinks were cold, views were serene. We had lunch on the patio – food was incredible.

We stopped in for breakfast, it was a quiet time of day before the crowds started arriving. Perfect for us ! We had excellent service from Nathan. He was super nice and even recommended some other nice beaches to visit. Food was great! I’d love to go back for a late lunch or dinner. Great atmosphere!

Captain Frenchy SXM is located in the heart of Grand Case, with a private beach and a great bar — if you want to get drunk on the beach, this is your chance. The amount of alcohol they put in cocktails is astonishing (this is the case for most places we went to in SXM, they are very indulgent with alcohol in cocktails). Waters are calm and you’re able to see Anguilla from afar, as well as planes landing at the Grand Case airport.
Now, it’s always a stereotype when I’m told that French people working in SXM’s French side tend to be arrogant and insensitive, but I did have that feeling with the beach boy, Jean-Philippe (aka Mr. Jeep), who got upset when we asked him if we could have an ashtray. I don’t think asking for an ashtray twice is too much when you’re spending 300€ through the day there. Ironically, we spoke French with him and I had hoped that that would actually be a bonding factor.
It seems like we’re not the only ones complaining about his behaviour and it’s been ongoing for years. We had to hunt him down every time for placing drink orders to the point where we chose to walk over to the bar instead. Again, not a problem per se but when you pay for a service you’d like to see some semblance of an effort.
We had also reserved 4 beach beds weeks ahead. When we arrived, he told us that the front row was reserved for another large family. Turns out it was just 4 families put together, and they could’ve been seated in the rows behind just like others were. I didn’t quite understand why, having placed a reservation, we’d be put at the back of the beach, but anyway. At that point I was afraid to ask to be seated at least on the second or third row.
Good thing the cocktails were good. If you’re going there, go on a day where Jeep isn’t working to be able to enjoy it to the max.

Wonderful restaurant with a beautiful view onto the water. We were there Christmas Day and food was still quick and service was warm and accommodating. My husband had the moules frites and he said it was the best mussels he had ever tasted. The restaurant is beautiful with an ever better view of the beach to match.

I visited Captain Frenchys for Christmas lunch this afternoon. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. A bee fell into my drink, and instead of remaking it, the staff simply removed the bee with a spoon and gave the same drink back to me, which was extremely unsanitary and unacceptable.
The lobster sandwich I ordered was equally confusing — fresh lobster placed on an American-style burger with American cheese and pickles. A truly criminal combo that felt poorly thought out, and tasted even more so.
On top of that, our waitress never checked on us during the meal. Overall, between the hygiene issue, the food, and the lack of service, this is not a place I would return to or recommend.

We came to SXM in late October. We were staying on the windward side of the island where the water was rough and the beaches were awash with seaweed. The leeward side however was calm and had not one blade of seaweed. Only a few of the beach clubs were open. We came to Captan Frenchy’s two days in a row, renting two chairs and an umbrella. We enjoyed drinks and lunch. We are at our lounge chairs but they also use tables. (The next day we ate at Cynthia’s). We had a great time, swam in the crystal clean water, lounged, and read. Jeep (Jean-Philippe) took great care of us. He was attentive without being pushy. He noticed my husband was rearranging the umbrella and he quickly brought us a second one. We did not need reservations as it wasn’t too busy, but during the busy season you will need to make them. The place also has bathrooms and a fresh water shower. We paid with a CC but tips are in cash so plan accordingly. Would definitely come back here if we return to SXM.

A group of 25 of us (12 adults and 13 children) went there last week. Without and hesitation they were able to accommodate us on the beach, get us drinks and food.
The day we went was for the vast majority of the island a quiet day but regardless of the size of our group they managed to accommodate well.
The drinks were flowing and the beach was great.
Now for the best part. The wings. Wow they were good. Not taking away from the rest of the food but these were likely some of the best wings I have ever had. Literally ate one, got in the sea, turned around and was like I need more.

Had an Amazing day in Grand Case and Captain Frenchys and can’t wait to return in December. Welcoming and friendly the moment we stepped in, our beach waiter was spot on and gave us the best service during our 11 day stay. We went elsewhere for lunch but did have late afternoon apps which were simply delightful!!!! Beer was ice cold, amazing views
