They have lots of options, but there were only 2 cake flavors that didn’t have cream cheese frosting. As someone who hates cream cheese frosting, I was disappointed.
The caramel cake was good but the chocolate frosting yellow cake was dry and grainy. I appreciate they’ve been around for a long time but I won’t be returning anytime soon.

A Piece of Cake has some of the best-tasting cake—moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The downside is the price: nearly $6 per slice feels steep. On top of that, customer service is terrible. On two separate visits, the staff’s attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming. In some locations north of Atlanta, they do offer a military discount, but I haven’t seen the same courtesy extended at the Atlanta stores. Overall, the cake is excellent, but the poor service and high prices make it hard to recommend.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with A Piece of Cake this past Saturday.
I placed a same-day cake order at 9:00 AM for my sister’s birthday, with a confirmed pickup time of 3:15 PM. At 3:17 PM, while I was already on the way, I received a call saying the cake was not ready. When I arrived, the pickup process was confusing and disorganized.
I spoke with Tara, who later identified herself as the Assistant Manager. I was told various excuses including that someone tried to call me, the label didn’t print, and there was internal confusion. None of this made sense given that the order was accepted under the same-day category.
I asked for the store manager’s contact information and was provided details that later turned out to be for customer service management, which at this point doesn’t even matter — the service was unacceptable.
I was also denied a refund on the spot, even though my order had not been fulfilled. It is now Tuesday, and I am still waiting for clarity on my refund. When I called customer service, I was told the store “didn’t have the materials” because I ordered before they opened — which makes no sense since the system allowed the same-day order to be placed.
This experience disrupted a birthday celebration and showed a serious lack of accountability and communication. I will not be returning and would not recommend this location.

Lemon pound cake is horrible. Drywall cake, dog bed cake, shoe sole cake, styrofoam cake, gravel cake, compost cake, construction cake….hey you would need a whole lot of water to wash it down. Public service announcement DON’T DO IT! Don’t waste your money

My mom used to stay in the area. I have not been here in awhile. My favorite cake is the peach pound cake in the summer it’s seasoned. Second favorite cake is the cookies and cream cake. Third favorite cake is the Mardi Gras cake I tried years ago.I got cookies and cream cake and chocolate chip pound cake slices. The cake is good. I went Tuesday on bogo day no cookies and cream cake so I went back on Wednesday. I came back here like a week ago. May – July they have a peach pound cake!: Check the website for the actual months it’s worth it only seasonal.

Of the places I know for cakes this is the better place. I just want a traditional cake and they tend to provide that here. Today they only had a lot of poundcake, caramel poundcake, caramel cake, and strawberry cake. It was a Sunday evening, so I understand that the others were probably sold out. the caramel cake was the better of the cakes. German chocolate is good here. The carrot cupcake was decent, but I didn’t eat any of the icing as I prefer more bread. Fair parking in the back with the back door entrance. Fair pricing for the size slice cake readily available.
The poundcake looks like poundcake, but doesn’t taste like grandma’s or mother’s poundcake. It taste like regular cake. It’s decent tasting just not dense like you would expect poundcake to be. I could see a three star being given to this chain, but when they are fully loaded with cakes; rating consistency, price, taste- I say they are closer to a four star. there must be a place selling cakes like grandmother used to make, I’m still on the hunt. I could recommend this place to a friend, especially looking for a whole cake like strawberry or caramel or German chocolate. It’s a good retail store cake!

At the Decatur Piece of Cake, I asked for a German Chocolate cake and I paid $55 (wow!). That evening, at my mom’s birthday party (she requested her favorite, German Chocolate Cake!), we discovered that they gave me a Red Velvet Cake : ( Whomp whomp.
My Mom was disappointed but even more disappointing is how they treated me. They asked me “what did your receipt say” (and now see that they rang up Red Velvet)… like this was my fault. And they said to bring the remaining cake with my receipt to get a replacement German Chocolate Cake, but they wouldn’t refund me. It just feels wrong for a wildly expensive cake that I didn’t want. I don’t need a German Choc Cake now… the birthday is DONE and I will never buy a Piece of Cake cake again.

Hate to say this but Sammy Cheesecake has better cakes.
I ordered white strawberry, lemon(my favorite) and apple pound cake.
The cake itself is more “crumby” – not that dense or moist. The frosting didn’t taste homemade, but it maybe.

1 STAR Cake- dry, dry, dry. This place has really, really gone DOWN! They definitely changed the recipe, and now the cake bread is SOOO dry! I got a supposedly fresh cake form them and when I cut it, it was almost as if you had left the cake out for 3 days uncovered. This cake wouldn’t last 3 days in a cake platter. If you want cornbread with icing on it- then this is your place!
