I started eating from here about 20 years ago. Each passing decade, the food quality and portions started to get lower and lower. Still, I continued to eat here getting half of food correct during this time. Tonight, my son brought me dinner from here and I had the beef and broccoli with noodles. Where’s the beef or the broccoli? I had a bowl of noodles as if it were a side item. My son told me he was given unwrapped exposed forks from an open display dispenser near the register. For a $34.00 order, only one egg roll that was half done. Never again.

I have to say, this was a profoundly disappointing meal. There were only two highlights in the whole experience: the flavor and crispy texture of the chicken with lo mein and the pork egg roll.
The dish I got was Mongolian beef. To start with, it was nothing but onions and a few dried (inedible) chilis. As you can see from my picture, it is mostly white and green onions. There were some bamboo shoots in there, but not that many, and they had been cooked too long, as they were as soft as the onions, if not softer. The seasoning on the dish was nothing like I experienced before, and that is, unfortunately, not a compliment. It tasted of Asian BBQ sauce and ketchup? The flavor was also so light that the incredible amount of onions dominated the dish.
I also got fried rice with my dish, and it was just yellow rice with no vegetables or protein. Another disappointment.
The spring rolls were also highly disappointing. They came with the “combo” of the two dishes we got, so I understand they are free, but if you are going to serve them, please ensure that they have filling and are an addition and not a detraction from the dish. The spring rolls were filled with next to nothing, mostly the fried dough used to wrap them.
My partner got Lo Mein and General Tso’s chicken, and the flavor and crispiness of the chicken were incredible. However, her Lo Mein was kinda tough and definitely under seasoned, as it had no flavor, and what a shame, as the sauce from the chicken was delicious.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I always save my leftover Chinese food for another day, but these went straight into the trash after we consumed the only delicious items, the General Tso’s chicken and the one pork egg roll.

The food tastes good but it is too expensive for the portions you get. Also the vegetable low mein is more vegetable than noodle, ig if you like that it’s fine but I personally do not, couldn’t get a solid bite with noodles because there barely was any noodles! $70 for 2 veg lo mein and 2 sesame chicken is just crazy, I expected a lot of food for that price for me and my 3 kids but there was not even enough noodles left to eat the next day, only chicken.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! I went here for the 1st time on lunch break around 11 and showed the nice sweet lady working the register, a pic of a meal they sell. She knew exactly what it is and made it spicy for me! The shrimp lo mein and general tso chicken was SOOOOO GOOD OMG! It was fresh, the chicken was crispy how I like it and the sauce was the bomb! I didnt have to add soy or duck sauce, it was so good! Thank you for your great customer service, highly recommend this!

Ordered chicken and broccoli. Got a lot of broccoli and rice but very little chicken. Ordered chicken wings and they were at least 2 days old. Extremely dry. Ordered fried dumplings and nothing but thick dough. Will never return to East China. Will return to our regular Chinese restaurant. We’re so glad we didn’t tip them. Low quality!

Disgusting! Worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. Let me include the shrimp with peppers only had 5 pieces of shrimp, the eggroll was completely soggy. Waste of $50….

Not to lie on this one, this is my favorite Chinese places ten toes down. Perhaps, it is the people, the way the lady smiles at me there, or the great Chinese food is always fresh. I DONT KNOW! What I do know is I love this place.
Stop waiting, get your food. You deserve it =)

I ordered sweet and sour chicken combination. I received old, burnt, refried chicken pieces that are so hard they almost broke my teeth. The rice is gross and congealed. Totally inedible and unacceptable. This place has no respect for their customers. Do not recommend to anyone. Wasted too much money on this garbage. Won’t get fooled again.

The East China Restaurant Experience (Call In/Carryout Edition). I’m a lover of Chinese food and could eat it every day. I called and placed my order with East China and received a pleasant telephone experience. Although their prices are slightly higher than my usual Chinese spot, I was down to try them out. I ordered their shrimp and broccoli extra spicy with an eggroll. Upon arrival, my food was ready, and I was out the door.
The positives I saw were a clean establishment and friendly staff. Upon eating the food, I couldn’t taste the heat I was expecting nor flavors. I asked for chili oil, and with that, I still couldn’t taste the heat. The food was ok but did not provide my tastebuds with the flavor I was seeking. Would I return? Probably not due to the price not reflecting the taste the food deserves.
