Very chill atmosphere with wonderful staff who were attentive. The food was a sea of flavors affecting every part of the tongue. Very well seasoned and aromatic. A nice blend of earthy, herbal, and fragrant spices will Cascade on your tongue in the most pleasing of ways. One of the best experiences with Indian cuisine in my life! And the prices were great for what they offered. We left full and elated. Ample parking also.

My wife and I had been meaning to try Desi Dhaba for months and finally stopped in on a whim for a late lunch a few Friday’s ago. The food was very, very good and my wife was raving about it! We got Mixed Veggie Pakoda as an appetizer that came with two sauces that were very tasty. The pakoda were fried to perfection! Our meals were Aloo Gobi Masala (vegan) and Chicken Rogan Josh. Both were really good. If you like some heat, ask for medium or more. We didn’t specify and both dishes could have been a little spicier for our tastes. I will admit my chicken was a little tough and I’m used to more tender chicken but it didn’t take away from the outstandingly complex flavors in the sauce.

The service was outstanding and attentive. It was quiet when we got there and got busier as we dined, but the server still constantly checked on us (and even brought more rice for our meals).

The restaurant could use a bit more ambiance but that didn’t detract from the experience. It used to be a diner, so I expect it will take some effort to get one big room with all those windows to feel more cozy and warm. I hope they do as it would add a lot to the dining-in experience. Also, the bathrooms were newly renovated and immaculate!

Desi Dhaba is definitely going to be a go-to option for us for Indian food in the area from now on. We will be back soon and look forward to it!

Friendly and fast service. Food is well prepared with authentic Indian seasoning. Food came out hot… sizzling hot. They have a lot of take out options from all the various delivery services. So if you can’t make it there, someone can get it to you

Jan 2024: Ordered in the restaurant for take out to go. Still great food, the restaurant was empty but people placed orders to go. Server was very polite. Everything looked clean and they had a Bollywood drama playing on the TV.

Ordered recently in Feb 2024 through door dash for delivery: Malai Soya Chaps, paneer pakora, galub Jamum, garlic naan. Be advised the order does not come with complementary white rice. And it cost $43 for just those few items. Prices have definitely gone up and portions are way smaller

I was told they opened about 5 months ago. This is north Indian style food. I ordered delivery through door dash. The butter chicken needed more flavor. But the saag paneer was very good! Both came with rice. Samosas were seasoned very well & crispy. Garlic naan was good of course. Galub jamun was good too,as well as the mango lassi. My new favorite spot this side of the river.

This place has great Indian food. We had Dahl Mahkani, naan with green chilis, cheese naan and biryani with goat, chicken and shrimp. The cheese naan seemed to be made with American style cheese, which we did not expect. Nevertheless we enjoyed everything and look forward to going back. We went early on Saturday evening and the restaurant was empty. With food this good, it should be busy.

We did not dine in, I stopped in to place a take out order.

The dining room is clean and conveys the feeling of an Indian Restaurant. There is a bar, which I used to sits at and wait for the order to be prepared.

We ordered Samosa, Chicken Korma, Tandoori Chicken and Naan. The food was good. Not the best Indian we’ve had, but also better than a lot of other.

It was well packed for take out, which I liked. And it travelled home well. Perhaps a bit more definition on taste would have helped.

We will absolutely come back for more. Compared with other options in Newburgh, we recommend a visit, you’ll not be disappointed.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! We are so blessed to have found this by mistake! Their Golden Lental soup is the absolute best soup ever!!! Great to dip a garlic cilantro Naan bread in it!! The spring rolls are the most amazing app ever!!! Both cauliflower appetizers were amazing. We now go there every week after church. Tried all the appetizers. Next time, it will be an entrée every week. That’s how we are learning!! It feels like everything is fresh and healthy!!! We leave with such an awesome feeling and can’t wait for our next visit!
