I ordered the egg drop soup and Crab Rangoon for lunch. It wasn’t bad, but neither thing had much flavor at all. The soup was a great portion size and piping hot. The Crab Rangoon were full of cheese and crispy, but very little flavor. I suppose I might go back if I was low on time and cash-the service was quick and prices are great.

Friendly staff. Good appetizers. My dinner food came hot, and quickly.

The Crispy Chicken and the crab rangoon are the best things here. The veg fried rice has way too much onion for my tastes. The pork fried rice is pretty good. Crispy Chicken is a 5 star item but I’m only giving 4 stars to my overall review since their other entrees have yet to wow me and I didn’t like their soups either. I no longer live in Brentwood but I do often make a special trip there just for the Crispy Chicken.

So disappointed. Our family used to eat in and take out from here 15-25 years ago. It was very good. Always very busy. The “pupu” platter was especially good.
Then we moved to another area of Metro St.Louis, haven’t gone there for years. Noticed the parking lot was always close to empty when I drove by.
I stopped by last week and nostalgically ordered the pupu platter, didn’t read the description. Its quality and selection is worse. And no more little grill in the presentation. They have deleted the bbq ribs, and added McNuggets-type mystery meat chicken bites. The beef on a strip was dry. The Crab Rangoon was fine, but nothing else tasted fresh and well-cooked.
It wasn’t like they were busy…at around 5:00 on a Saturday, no one else was there.

I went here many years ago thinking that maybe they got better, nice staff, fast service but the taste was not my style. Everyone has a different pallet so maybe it’s just not for me. Also a little pricey compared to other places. 3 stars because they were not horrible.

My wife and I have been going to Hunan Wok for 30 years as we used to work close to the restaurant. I have been to numerous Chinese restaurants in St. Louis and without a doubt, Hunan Wok has the best tasting Chinese food in the area. Most of their business is carry out and I don’t mind a restaurant with few patrons in the dining room. I don’t mind the decor because I go to eat and not look at the walls. My service is always great and the food is even better. Portion size is the same with plenty to eat, usually have to take a to-go box and refills are always provided. For those of you disappointed in Hunan Wok, try it again because when this place closes for good you will never be able to duplicate that great tasting food as the other restaurants just don’t match up to that taste.

My favorite restaurant in Brentwood. My favorite is the Hot and Spicy soup, and the fried pot stickers. The people there are friendly. My food is usually about 15 minutes even for a bigger order.

Not great. Place kinda smelled like cat pee. Crab rangoon wasnt good, was just cheese filled, no crab, no onion. Pot stickers wernt great either. But the server was really nice.

I ordered from Hunan Wok by mistake. I meant to pick up dinner from Yen Ching across from the Gallaria. Yen Ching was full when I arrived. I was told that they didnt have my order. After realizing my mistake, I drove two miles down the road to pick up my food at Hunan Wok.
The first thing that I noticed was that it smelled like a portapotty. The second thing I noticed was it was totally empty. The lady was very nice, but I told her that I couldn’t eat there.
