Picked up butter chicken and basmati rice from Ballarat Indian Restaurant and rich aromas filled the car before we got home. The sauce was velvety, spiced just right, and paired beautifully with fluffy rice. Warm lighting and soft music at pickup added charm. Excellent service. A satisfying, sensory experience from kitchen to empty dinner plate.

We loved our meal on a warm Tuesday evening in the quiet, cool dining room at Ballarat Indian Restaurant in Golden Point near Sovereign Hill. Lovely friendly service. Given water and papadum while we decided on our order. Methi Chicken and Eggplant curry were delicious. Plenty of off street parking behind the restaurant via the drive way

Visited this restaurant during a stay in Ballarat. Food was delicious and very tasty. We had a variety of dishes, lamb, kebabs, fish, butter chicken, lamb Korma, lamb saag could not fault anything with the taste of the authentic Indian spices. Will definitely visit again next time visiting Ballarat

Have driven past this place a thousand times and finally got to try it.
Parked out the front with no lighting, so stepped in thick mud 🙁
Then took the only table for 2 behind a pillar.
(One other couple already seated)
We chose the ‘special’ for 2 people. It was affordable at approx $66
But we wanted a beer each instead of coke and fancy bread instead of plain naan. This added $22 to our meal. Which I think was fair. But the quality of the food was quite poor.
The samosa was very dry. The tandoori chicken was over cooked and chewy. The lamb in the Rogan Josh was dry too… but still a little pink. The butter chicken had spice, but wasn’t creamy like I’m used to. The rice was bland and so dry it was almost crunchy! The bread that we paid extra for, tasted like plain naan…. No evidence of fruit (cashmiri) or garlic at all. Service was excellent and the beer (Kingfisher) was delicious!!
