Kristy and Jason are wonderful people. They take pride in the food they serve which you can tell by how wonderful the food actually is. I would recommend anything on their menu because it is all phenomenal. I frequent this place quite often because this little hole in the wall is a diamond in the rough. I recommend anybody to go eat here whether you like sushi or not because they have other food other than Sushi that is also phenomenal.

We go to Umi around once a week to split the Maki dinner for 2. Love the pink lady and fantastic roll. It’s a small place run by 2 people so you may not get a table for a while at peak hours.

When I walked in the store was clean and had a fresh smell. Typically when walking into a sushi place you can tell by the smell if it’s going to be fresh or not. I didn’t see any crumbs on the floor or garbage. Everything was clean. We were greeted right upon walking in and because there were only two people working, when she would be in the back preparing food and someone walked in the guy making sushi would greet them instead which is nice because it lets customers know that you are being recognized. The food is very fresh and I would even say on the cheaper side when it comes to sushi. I used to eat at Shinto before this and I think I will now change my sushi place to this restaurant. What’s even more great is that if you’re an indecisive person the store only serving sushi and maybe other smaller entrees makes it even easier to make a choice on what you want to eat. I didn’t eat at the restaurant but in the future I will because everything is so clean and the decor and atmosphere is nice and relaxing. When I ordered my takeout it took about ten minutes or less which is fast.

Cute little sushi place nestled in a shopping center. I believe it’s a family owned place, but not entirely sure. When I arrived, it was about a 30 minute wait to see myself however, there is only one chef cooking and the other woman was running around taking orders as well as serving food, but still was very efficient. I got a spider roll. A Sunshine roll and the garlic edamame. The food was so delicious and I will definitely be back.

Umi Sushi is hands down my favorite sushi places in Cleveland!
Kristy and her husband are not only incredible restauranteurs but they are also amazing people and when you dine at Umi they make you feel like you’re at home.
Their fish by far is some of the freshest in the area and is one of the reasons why their sashimi is my go to. Whether you’re dining in or placing an order to go I can guarantee that no matter what you order on the menu it will be absolutely delicious! (This coming from the person that has pretty much tried everything in the menu at this point with her husband!)

First time having dinner at Umi. New to the area, was skeptical until reviews said it was a must. Let me tell ya, it was amazing! Only reason for 4 stars is the side of shrimp had entirely too much sauce on it. It was way overboard. Other than that, phenomenal. See you soon.
