We had a great experience at Jack Friend. The food was fresh, well prepared, and very satisfying, with generous portions and good value for what you get. Everything came out hot and exactly as ordered.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing, which really added to the overall experience. Service was efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable—perfect for both a quick stop or a sit-down meal.
Overall, a solid spot in Grand Falls and definitely worth checking out. We’d happily come back again.

Stopped here during my trip from Toronto to Newfoundland via New Brunswick. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try the fish and chips since they’re only available on Thursdays and Fridays, but overall, I was 100% satisfied with my experience.

Enjoyed a quick lunch at this spot. I gave 4/5 as it was very good. I had the chicken Caesar wrap but there was very little chicken. For the price paid it was still a good value. The Philly cheese steak wrap had a lot of meat. Finally the burger was very tasty, cooked right, and the fries were perfect. The prices are excellent . The decor of old Grand Falls and all the antiques were a pleasant surprise! Young lady was extremely friendly and kind.

We found Jack Fries through a quick Google search and decided to give it a try based on the positive recommendations. Our group of 12 easily found seating upon arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. The menu was straightforward, though it would have been helpful to have a detailed description of the ingredients in Jack’s Poutine. My husband ordered the crispy chicken poutine but regretted not choosing Jack’s Poutine after discovering it included beef and green peppers—both of which were delicious! The restaurant’s display of old antiques added a unique charm to the atmosphere. Additionally, the eating area and amenities were clean, and we appreciated the convenient parking right outside.

Food and service were excellent! Prices are on par with big chains like BK or McDonald’s, but the quality here is far superior. You can really taste the difference. A great spot to sit out on the boulevard and soak in the town’s warm and cozy vibe. Highly recommended for a casual and satisfying meal!

Onion rings were delicious. Fries were a bit soggy for my taste. The burger bun seemed fresh, but the burger could have used some salt or something. It was quite tasteless

I googled for restaurants before going to Grand falls and observed this place has good reviews and reasonable prices.
We ordered a big fish burger, chicken burger with bacon strips, fries and onion rings. The taste was good, not spicy though. The fried onion rings were a little more oily but ok.
The staff were friendly. The place was clean and tidy including bathrooms. The ambiance was good with old pictures. There is free parking in front. Overall good.
