What an amazing ambiance! The food is beyond words !!!!! One of the best buffets I’ve ever been too. They have a good variety of choices from crab curry to leg of lamb to veg pastas to amazing desserts. Definitely a place one should try. Food was well worth it R375pp please note this is without drinks and a bottle of 750ml of water is R60. Other than the drink prices being abit elevated the rest of the experience was great. Friendly staff, place is neat and clean. Perfect to celebrate a birthday. You have to make reservations. Over all experience 9/10

Some of the food such as the Chicken Tikka Masala Cubes & Mutton Breyani was delicious. But the service is just bad. The waiter who interacted with us didn’t bother clearing the table timeously and lacked complete professionalism in everything he did. The butter chicken, prawn curry and mutton curry were mediocre. The quality of mutton used is good.

Visited Jeera on New Year’s Eve as the Durban bunny chows are a must on our trips to Durban.

Jeera has an incredible bunny special ranging between R130 to R150.

My family ordered the mutton bunny chow and butter chicken bunny.

This did not disappoint, the bunny was huge and by far one of the only establishments that there was more meat than bread (always a good thing for bunny connoisseurs lol) but the winner was certainly the butter chicken bunny chow. Incredible depth of flavor, creamy and spicy.

The portions were so large that my entire family had a take away!

Definitely worth a try and a great family option for curry lovers!

It’s been 7 years since we visted this place and the memories we had gathered on the bunny, the ambience etc at Jeer’a were just shattered when we ordered the bunnies again. The quality of meat was astonishing, with so much fat and breast pieces, the garlic chunky gravy did not meet the usual standard and the potaoes, aside from not being gravy soakers, were not cooked enough. It was sad to see a place which won best bunny in Durban a while ago continue to rely on this win but not have the same standard that made them win. The service is also not the same but we did speak to the manager who actually apologised about some confusion, which I did appreciate.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We’re willing to listen to requests and make them happen. I must go.

We were left without being served to order our meal, I had to go and ask them(Nobuhle the hostess) for us to be served. Once the meal was done nobody came to check on us. We waited approximately 20-30 mins after our meal, then my wife had to ask once again for a doggy bag and our bill.

This is truly appalling service delivery and I will not go there again. For such a restaurant, it’s soo sad. I don’t recommend at all.

One of the best Indian buffets I’ve been to!

This one is for all my curry lovers, from mutton to crab and everything in between. This restaurant is top notch!
The buffet has everything you could ever want if you ever wanted some Indian flair with a touch of class.
I’ve been here twice now and I have to say that the mutton curry just smacks! It’s spicy and delicious and the gravy is amazing.
An array of desserts which includes cakes and pasties as well as some Indian well know ones like ‘soji’ and vermicelli.

A must try in Durban!
P.S I was mostly concerned about the eating last night and not the photography.

This restaurant has an identity crisis. The food is 5 star, the decor is 5 star, but the service is 1 star. Which is ironic as their website parades “the warm, attentive service makes for a truly remarkable experience”.
1. There were probably two or three wait staff on duty. To get service you have to leave your table, look for a waiter and call them over.
2. We were there for a corporate dinner with 15 guests. Not only were we told to share menus, we were told to order our meals quickly so that they could give the menus to another group that was about to arrive apparently. Don’t parade yourselves as fine dining if you don’t even have menus.
3. No napkins. After starters, the one paper towel sheet we were all given, was taken away, and not replaced even after mains arrived.
4. Dishes and cutlery were cleared in a hurry, even when we weren’t done.
5. The waiter tells one of our guests not to order the dish he asked for because its not nice.
6. Even though this restaurant was half empty, we were required to pay an upfront deposit.
7. When we were given the bill, the bill did not reflect our deposit. We asked for it to be updated.
8. The updated bill still had an inaccurate deposit amount, so we sent it back again.
9. On the third time of asking they got the bill and deposit correct.
10. Staff are invisible, if you claim to be fine dining, your staff should be clearly visible at all times and attentive to the guests requirements.
Overall an appalling experience and management should be embarrassed. We will not return and do not recommend this restaurant.
The chef and kitchen staff sadly will pay the price for mismanagement, as the dishes they prepared were beautiful and tasty.
But that does not gloss over a terribly run establishment. Tsogo should be ashamed.

The food was good, the waitress was good. I brought a doggy bag home. The salad turned white in just over 2 hours. It means they serve you old food. I emailed them and no one responded. So overall I have no reason to give them a good review

We went to Jeera with our directors for a staff lunch yesterday. We did choose the buffet option as they are running a “festive special”

The food was absolutely dismal to say the least. The butter chicken was smelling sour. “Fragrant Rice” was nothing to write home about it was normal rice. The leg of lamb was nothing more than just Masala rubbed lamb. The breyani had only bone pieces of meat and a lack of potato. The price is 325 but a coke costs about R 30.

The salad selection was the only thing palatable and seems like the only Option that most of us could eat and the desserts was basic.

If your choice of foods are solely indian cuisines then this is for you. However disappointment was the order of the day.
