We are a combination coffee bar and sandwich and snack shop on Mount Desert Island, Maine — located in the village of Town Hill, Bar Harbor. Mother’s Kitchen has been making our Real Good Sandwiches since 1997. We use fresh breads and veggies, and our menu features both classic AND unique combinations of flavors.

BEST PLACE FOR COFFEE AND SANDWICHES ❤️
The coffee both days, was delicious. Living over a decade in Europe, it’s a struggle to find good coffee in the US. But this place made my stay in Acadia amazing.
The sandwiches were worth it, we tried different ones both days and all delicious. Cannot go wrong with this place.
We also visited their neighboring shop where they are about to open in this great space after they had to downsize after COVID.
More power to this place with their view to sustainable delicious food and coffee.
Cannot wait to visit the new place next time I am in the area.

Incredible staff and incredible food. Simply went because our hotel didn’t have breakfast – and it’s safe to say that this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in my life, and it was also a reasonable price. They also have Tandem coffee, which is delicious! Despite longer lines on a Saturday, they were efficient and fast! Also, there is no indoor seating, just outdoor picnic tables. Thankfully for us, both days were perfect weather! HIGHLY recommend this place!!

My husband and I found this little gem while we were on vacation and are so happy we did. I always like to find the unique coffee spots that are off the beaten path or not where all of the tourists go and this was it. In fact we went two days back to back. The first visit we did lattes and breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast sandwich although simple was delicious. My latte was even better! The staff is the most friendly and part of the reason we wanted to go back. Whenever we come back to Bar Harbor we will definitely make our way back here!

A neat little restaurant off the beaten path. Great food & fast service. No indoor seating, there are picnic tables & benches under some sunshade sails – makes for a nice atmosphere! There’s also a flea market on the adjacent lot to browse through while waiting for your order.

Great spot! Got the Ultimate with bacon and a Maple Oat Latte. Both were delicious, the tomato tasted so fresh. Service was great. My partner has celiac and ordered the Rice Up Bowl & staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination. They also have nice outdoor seating with shade so we could take our dogs to sit outside. Love! Can’t wait to return

LOVED this place. My fiancé and I came here three times while on our stay in Maine. Sandwiches and coffee were delicious, and the staff were kind and friendly. We got our food within 10 minutes even when they were busy. Would HIGHLY recommend 🙂

This is the kind of place you don’t talk about because you want to keep it all to yourself. The grilled chicken sando seems simple but is absolutely flawless in its execution. Gooey soft focaccia with grilled chicken, arugula, and a crazy yummy housemade spread. And I had to try the nitro maple oat latte and it did not disappoint and was so refreshing. I love the walk up window and tons of picnic tables made for a chill, community vibe. I was vacationing when I found it so that always adds something special, but I suspect locals come here for the excellent sandwiches and coffee as well.

I’m so glad we stopped here for coffee & breakfast! The matcha was great & my sister enjoyed the cold brew she got as well. The staff was friendly & we got our food and drinks pretty quickly even though it was pretty busy! The butter & blueberry jam on sourdough toast was sooo good!!! The outdoor space is so cute and provides plenty of spots to sit and eat or wait for your order. Definitely recommend!!

My wife and I are from out of state. We make sure if we are anywhere nearby we come here. We planned our recent trip to Acadia in a way that we made sure we could come.
All the food is fresh and delicious. The people so kind. It’s definitely worth your stop.
