Tried this place for the first time and was pretty impressed. Beef stew was excellent, chicken wraps and vermicelli were solid. The place was completely empty which was a bit of a red flag and downer but overall the service was quick and friendly and food was good!

This restaurant serves fresh and healthy dishes. Service is always quick and friendly. Food is generally served very quickly. I’ve had the pho, the salad rolls, the vermicelli with pork and spring rolls,and the pad Thai with beef. It all tastes very fresh and delicious.

Fresh rolls – good flavour, peanut sauce watered down.
Pho – overpowering clove flavour that coats your mouth for days.

Ordered for delivery. Overall, I was a bit underwhelmed! The rolls with the ‘glass’ see-through casing look super cool but the taste was bland… the peanut dipping sauce was very low on peanut taste. Some chopped peanuts would have added to both taste and texture
The bbq chicken was sliced thinly and lost its moisture. Better re-heated the next day with the ‘sauce’ on top. For what you pay, I felt too much of the package was rice!
The spicy noodles with veggies and red sauce had just the right amount of spicy and taste!

Had a great dinner at Chez Lam! We live in the East end of Ottawa so have not tried many restaurants in the West end. We were in the area for a concert and decided we wanted to try somewhere new for pho. We were not dissapointed.
The service was super fast and very kind. We went early to give ourselves time, our orders were taken right away and the food came out very quickly. There were 2 staff working the dining area at the time and they were both very friendly and kind.
The pho broth was delicious. Fresh ingredients and the chicken and beef were both tender and well cooked. The appetizers we had were also delicious. I had the medium pho and my husband had the large. I couldn’t finish the medium. And he barely finished the large. The portions of everything were very good. The prices were also fair and on par with other similar restaurants.
Would definitely recommend this place and we will visit again if we are in the area.

Seeing the world In a different way
I randomly went into this Vietnamese restaurant just to have a snack and I am glad I did. The spicy beef soup I had was excellent and the broth was very flavourful. Service was fast and friendly. I saw lots of people coming in after I came and this confirmed to me that others like the food here as well.
