Hostess instructed me I had to go to the front desk and buy a $5 breakfast ticket before I was allowed to dine…..
The buffet was picked over but the cook soon had refilled most items. He was the only one that tried to attend to customers. He also offered to get me a cold apple juice. HE WAS friendly. Eggs, and bacon were very good. The “chicken” sausage was gray, rubbery and tasteless. Biscuits & gravy also rather bland. Restaurant was quiet and nice atmosphere.

Though I ordered out, the service was great and the meal was delicious. I was truly impressed by the way my salmon was grilled. The crispy rub on the outside was fantastic.

I am extremely disappointed in Emma’s quality as of the past few months. My husband and I had decided that we will no longer patronize the restaurant due to a decline in quality and service. Our most recent visit was a disaster. Our server, Jasmine, did not approach our table until 10 minutes after being seated and was extremely inattentive. We understand if a restaurant is busy, but it was quite the opposite. Her lack of personality and obvious annoyance with our presence made us very uncomfortable.

Once served, the food was bland, some of it tasted as if it had been microwaved, and the portions were EXTREMELY small relative to the price charged. It is understandable that Emma’s is one of the finer restaurants in Statesboro, but this was ridiculous. I don’t know what happened but it seems to have declined since Chef Scarborough’s departure with the restaurant. Our friends that introduced us to Emma’s have agreed with us that there is a lack of pizzazz, which is disheartening, and they will not be returning as well until changes have been made.

I have to add, once the bill arrived and was paid, that we received a sheepish smile and not a” thank you” given. What was suppose to be a pleasant evening out for our anniversary, ended on a sour note.

Saw they had Prime rib just on Friday night so came in to try it, but they were out. Which is fine, it does say first come first serve while supplies last on the menu.
We were the only customers there, so it was nice and quite. The waiter was nice, he did ask if I wanted lemon in my tea. I told him I didn’t that I didn’t like lemon. He said he wouldn’t put it in then. There was lemon in the tea when he brought it.
I order fish and chips instead and my wife the burger. I asked the waiter not to bring in tartar sauce that I didn’t want it. He said, “sure I just won’t bring any”…he brought tartar sauce.
The food was so-so at best. The bread was dry, the hamburger dry, and the fries look like the frozen kind you can buy at Walmart.
We order several drinks…they were all terrible. We left one undrunk it was so bad, tasted like bad chocolate milk.
The service was good, our waiter was nice, despite being terribly forgetful. The food was what I expect from a cheap mom and pop type of business.
I don’t plan on coming back. Why should I? El Sombrero across the road has better food and FAR FAR better drinks for less…

WOW….this place is wonderful. Do not miss out on a great dining experience. I have eaten all over the World and the food at Emma’s is as good as any restaurant that I have ever eaten in. The fried oysters are by far the best that I have ever eaten. In addition, the service is great…and do not forget to mention their website. The website says that if you call for a reservation, and mention the “free appetizer” then you get the spring roll appetizer for free. I have never called for the reservation, but simply showed the hostess the webpage on my iPhone. They honor that and you get a very good spring roll appetizer for free.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. My boyfriend and I decided to go today on Valentines Day. Because Emma’s is never busy and we had a movie we wanted to see at 8pm. We got there at 6:30 pm. For starters we did not have a server so the host took our orders and after an hour and a half of waiting for our food with the host checking on us ONCE and still no waiter we were told that they were out of what we ordered. Keep in mind it is 8pm at this point so not only do we not get dinner on valentines but we miss the movie because we decided since it was so late it was fine if we could just get our dinner and get home which we did not get!! He did not even offer a free meal for next time. He just simply stated “we are out of the food you ordered so if you want to leave I understand.” I’ve worked in the food service industry and I know it isn’t terribly hard to let someone know if you do not have the food they ordered right away. Especially on a holiday so we had time to go somewhere else!

(Used to be) Great cocktails, accompanied by simple yet savory appetizers, salad varieties, entreés, and pasta. Most menu items are made to order, so variations are possible if there are any allergies or toppings that aren’t wanted or that would like to be added. Spacious patio with umbrellas out back perfect for outdoor dining or an evening of liquid libations.

The food has been very good every time that I have been there. I went once for Prime Rib, but for some reason they were not serving it that Friday. The atmosphere is nice. It is not loud and does not have TVs. I would not take my kids there.

This is the most overrated restaurant in town. Went there for a buffet type Christmas party on Dec 9, 2014. Food was 15 minutes late being placed on the line. Vegetables were overcooked and soggy. By the time we got to the main courses, there were no shrimp in the shrimp and grits, and there were no chicken breasts left at all. Any self respecting chef, there used to be one here but he left, would not have served the mess we were expected to eat. Gordon Ramsay could have a ball here.

we usually love the restaurant, how ever last night our service didnt go that well, my husband gets off close to 10 so he called in an order for pick up, the yummy tacos and he wanted to treat me to the classic cheeseburger that i love. when he called in the order he was not told he could not get the classic cheeseburger but the person proceeded to take his order, classic cheeseburger No onions, fish tacos. upon arrival for pickup he was told his order was ready it included emmas burger. which is 12 $, 4 $ difference from the original order plus he really didnt know if i would like it, the person told him there is nothing they can do at this time he had to pay for both orders or none, quite rude. forced to take the order as is he brought the surprise home while explaining that this isnt actually what he wanted me to try. Of course i said ok i will try it its no big deal its ok. the burger was very different from what i would ever try and upon eating after the second bite i taste onions, i have very bad reactions to onions shocked we looked up what it all includes and yes it has onions. needless to say i stayed up all night with my stomach being upset he was horrified as he would never order a burger with onions for me knowing i would be extremely sick.
