This place is out in the middle of no where but so good. Probably one of the best in the AV. Staff is very friendly and appreciative of the visit. Food is great. I got the fajitas with chicken and shrimp and my fiance got the Molcajete.

I discovered this restaurant about 2 years ago and since then I’ve driven the 3-4 hour round trip from Ventura several times, sometimes with friends or meeting them there. Why do I do it? Because it’s the best Mexican food I’ve ever had and it’s served by impeccable staff members.
Please don’t judge the restaurant by the exterior of the building……the real joy happens inside!

Delicious Food! A little far but worth the drive! Clean and courteous atmosphere. Always satisfying meal no matter what we ordered! I recommend trying this restaurant! Be sure and get the $1 albondiga soup when ordering a combination plate! Yum

Azteca is an absolute gem tucked away in a small town, and it’s definitely worth the short drive for those of us who don’t live in the area. We’ve been making this trip for a few years now, and we always leave happy.
The staff here is incredibly friendly and consistently provides great service. One of my favorites is their giant burrito, which I always customize by substituting the meat for their delicious carnitas, a decision you won’t regret. Another standout is their Long Beach Island drink, which has become a favorite of ours.

Thank you for making me more upset then I was when I came in you want tips so bad here is a very helpful tip everyone beware they like to over charge and charge for things you don’t order and the drinks have more ice then drink I have to edit my review from 5stars to one this is a place not to go if you want to eat were you can trust the waitresses as they want to complain on duty they want to get bigger tips but they treat you like crap 15 $ is over priced for the service I got I would not tip for that kind of service with money instead I want to let you all beware of what goes on sadly they are selling out !!! This used to be my favorite place for Mexican food, but not anymore. My family and I, a party of 7, went there Friday, 7/11/25 for dinner around 8:15. We were served chips that were small little pieces and they were all over done, almost burnt.
I asked for new chips that weren’t burnt and overdone, and we were brought different chips, but they were the same, overdone.
I ordered the chicken taquitos combo for dinner, and they were also overdone, too crispy and the chicken was very dry and hard.
When the bill came later, everything on the bill was higher than the prices on the menu, over $5.00 for beverages, and the items we ordered were high than the listed price. We were also charged extra for a little cup of ranch dressing for my granddaughter’s french fries, and were told because the item didn’t come with it, it was extra. I was also surprised when we were charged for the to go boxes. There is a lot that needs to be improved upon in this restaurant. Just because we were some of the last customers of the day doesn’t mean our food has to be overdone and dry.
