This is one of the best establishments in Oregon. Let alone the west coast. This is a staple for all of north east Portland. From their classic subs like the Famous Tickler to the new flavors like the Korean BBQ every sandwich is absolutely perfectly crafted by artisan sub makers. A family owned local business I’ve been happy to support since 2009

I think it just wasn’t for me. Two seven inches was a good amount to share between two people. I think I need to eat more chicken teriyaki sandwiches in my life. The flavors were there but my main issue was the bread. It was just kind of chewy and unpleasant. They have covered outdoor seating and everything comes out fairly quick. The vibes are quirky and local.

This place tickled my taste like they were a classicaly trained pianist serenading an eager crowd of concert goers. Had the bulgogi spicy 10inch sandwich, and it was everything I dreamed of. Crunchy bread, juicy meat, and the flavors stuck with me all day. I thought about going back for a dinner sandwich. Portion size was large! I’m a real eater, and I struggled to finish my 10 inch sandy. Bulgogi was sweet, spicy, and packed in there. Had to take a nice long walk after crushing this beaut. The staff were friendly and helpful, the joint is small and cozy, and they even have an outdoor heater for sidewalk people watching. 10/10 kinda spot. A real sandwich institution.

Best sandwich I’ve had in Portland! The gal was so nice and gave us a great suggestion for food. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the bulgogi sandwich. Amazing!! Will definitely keep this on our list to eat.

It was an okay sub. We got The Tickler and expected more flavor for their namesake sub. It was tasty but definitely not the best sandwich spot in Portland.

This place is the legit sandwich shop on NE Broadway. I have no problem walking past the multiple sandwich and burger chains (all within a block or two) in order to get a Tasty Tickler! It’s a Portland lunch staple!

Been here six months and found a gem. Everyone told me I had to try this place, and honestly, they were right. It’s a tiny spot that looks like it hasn’t changed in 30 years, but that teriyaki chicken sub is wild. Saucy, sweet, totally unphotogenic but hits hard. Cash only though, which caught me off guard. Worth it, just bring bills.

The staff are really nice, and the sandwiches can be great, but I always ask for no tomatoes and they keep adding them anyway. The sandwiches are securely wrapped up and taped, so it’s not easy to double-check, but when I sit down to lunch after a couple of hours and finally open it up, the thick tomato slices have made everything soggy. I mentioned it after the first time, and they gifted me a free sandwich, which was far more than they needed to do was was very appreciated. But it just happened for the third time today, and I’m not going back because I’m tired of finding out that my lunch has been ruined.

Had the Hot pastrami from here while I was in town. Was impressed by the size of the sandwich and the amount of pastrami they threw in. Very good stuff. A little pricey but service is fast and the food is great. Not so much a place to come and sit down though. Definitely take the food to-go.

This use to be good, I got the beef yakisoba and it was like extremely overcooked soggy Ramen noodles with that cheep prepackaged shaved beef which honestly looked and tasted like ground beef. Had to purchase something different. Fingers crossed.
