Ambiance is great. The service is great and super friendly! Food is delicious and good portions. Would recommend as it is one of the only Honduran restaurants in miles. So happy to finally have one near home!

Huge space that seems part sports bar, part dance floor. 20+ tables, but only two were taken on a Friday night. Service was excellent, although our server didn’t speak much English, and we don’t speak much Spanish, so ordering was done with caution. We ended up choosing the shrimp (8 jumbo pieces amounting to half a pound, per the receipt), and a plantain with refried beans, cotija cheese, and entirely too much mayo. The shrimp was flavorful and spicy, but I’m not a big fan of smoky flavoring, so my date had most of it and washed it down with a liter of Coke. The plantain was very bland, with the beans being pretty flavorless and stale. Very disappointing for $40.

The service was amazing the food out of this world and the atmosphere amazing. The food at la champa feels like some family’s home made recipes fresh from what we are all used to. For sure will come back and 100% recommend it.

I love this place. My uncle & i are from Honduras. At the time, the only Honduran restaurant close to us remotely at the time; is in Tijuana Mexico , a place called Honduras 504. But luckily, we found this place in San Marcos. So now, instead of driving over an hour to eat Honduran food, we simply drive about fifteen minutes. Food here is delicious! I feel back at home. Highly recommend this place. Their menu is delicious!

Abusive service, the bartender specifically has no customer service watsoever, prepotent, with his head in the clouds, I can tell the waitress fear him, I asked one question to a lady that was waiting tables and he jumped in the conversation, didnt let her answe to me, a customer, and he promptly said that there was a lot of people in front of me, that i had to wait and if i didnt like it there was the door and pointed at it, my question to the lady was just if he was the one that was going to help me to wait for him and the only thing i got was to get kicked out by this guy that has no manners or an idea in how to treat customers, never in 20 years here in San Diego, Vista, San Marcos, National City Chula Vista I’ve been treated that bad for just one question, not even 2 min in the place and he even threatened me in calling the sheriff. I would never recomend this place to any one.

Had a great experience here. Would recommend the pupusas, plátano relleno, and jugo de maracuyá fresco. Karen was a fantastic server and very accommodating. We also enjoyed the lively Honduran music.
