Trendy spot in an active complex bustling with families and live music on a Saturday night. Inside Sugarfish is seating for approximately 40 people, which can lead to extended wait times (45 min), but the food and service make it worthwhile. Excellent sushi samplers in set meals at reasonable prices. Salmon was a real standout, but everything offered delicate nuances across a variety of flavors. Service was friendly and very attentive with punctual arrival of food throughout the set courses. Ready to return any day. Kudos.

We tried the Nozawa dinner at Sugarfish and honestly found it a little below average. While the portion size is decent, the food itself felt pretty minimal in effort and nothing stood out as extraordinary. It’s fine if you want something simple and straightforward, but it’s not a memorable sushi experience.

SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa never disappoints. The fish is always incredibly fresh, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and the experience feels effortlessly premium without being pretentious. The Trust Me menu is the way to go—every piece melts in your mouth and flows perfectly from start to finish. Our server Matthew ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ was fantastic as well—attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Simple, consistent, and top-tier sushi every time.

Came here with couple of friends for a lunch together. We sat and the server was friendly and explained the menu. M6 two friends have been here before but I have not, so it was kind of the server to explain a bit about how the menu worked.

I went with the “trust me” omakase and added an a la carte item.

Price was fairly decent for the amount of items that make with it.
The rice to fish ratio was good and the seasoning on the rice was good. I liked that the rice was warm and not on the colder side as some other places do. The rice should be a good temperature when paired on sushi. I did not, however, like how the rice was falling apart so easily in all of the nigiris. Overall, flavor was delicious. I definitely enjoyed every bite.

I liked that seating was cushioned and comfortable. Would’ve like a slightly bigger table, but it was fine.

What ruined the atmosphere was the blaring alarm. The fire alarm at the entire plaza went off. From the looks off of the staffs faces, this seemed like a regular thing and even they were over it.

Overall, first time experience was enjoyable, would come again.

There are places you go for spectacle. Then there are places you go to shut up and eat.

SUGARFISH is the latter.

No neon rolls drowning in aioli. No torched mayonnaise theatrics. No chef with a blowtorch trying to audition for TikTok. Just rice that’s seasoned like someone actually cares, fish that tastes like it met the ocean recently, and a quiet understanding that good sushi does not need a personality disorder.

The progression is deliberate. Warm rice. Cool fish. Clean cuts. Nothing fights. Nothing screams. It’s sushi that trusts itself.

The toro is buttery without feeling indulgent. The yellowtail is clean and almost sweet. The hand rolls arrive crisp and immediate, like they should, not sitting around contemplating life choices. Even the albacore, often abused elsewhere, is handled with restraint and balance.

Service is efficient in that slightly minimalist, we’re-all-adults-here way. They won’t narrate your meal, and frankly, they don’t need to. The system works. You sit down. You eat what they give you. You’re happier than when you walked in.

Atmosphere? Understated. Calm. Almost monastic. It’s not trying to be Tokyo. It’s not trying to be LA either. It’s just trying to get the rice right.

And it does.

Yes, it’s over $100 a head if you lean in. And yes, you could find sushi cheaper. But this is what happens when discipline wins over drama.

In a city addicted to reinvention, SUGARFISH quietly reminds you that simplicity — done correctly — is still radical.

I’ll be back.

Really great sushi and a very competitive price! We got the omakase course and every bite was really delicious. The hand rolls especially were super good and had crisp seaweed and warm soft rice to compliment the excellent fish.

Expect to wait a while for seats but it’s worth it!

Went on a Friday night. Wait wasn’t too long, about what you’d expect for a Friday night. Quality of the fish was absolutely amazing. Automatic 16% fee applied to your bill but it’s considered a no tipping establishment. Very small and intimate. Was a little loud in there from all the other patrons so be wary if you’re not into that. Interior was nice.

Yes yes a thousand times yes. Delicious sushi at a great price. We went for dinner around 5 pm and had put our names down ahead of time via the Yelp waitlist. We arrived about 10 min after they had already sent the text saying our table was ready, but they were kind enough to put us next on the list, so we were seated about 10 minutes later.

Edit: came back to the new location and everything was off. The service was terrible, the sushi came out at weird times, even the uni didn’t taste as fresh. Would not go back again.

All 4 of us ordered the “Don’t think. Just eat” for $55, and it was a ton of food. My wife and mother-in-law couldn’t finish theirs so they have extra pieces to my father-in-law and me. I was stuffed at the end but still had to try their uni, which was amazing. Don’t hesitate. Just come here and be pleased with good sushi.
