This was a very convenient place to stop for a comfortable meal. The food was served quickly and tasted very good. All of the employees that we talked to were very friendly and welcoming.

First visit and as others have noted, the building is not new but I didn’t come here for the building. The service is very attentive. I wish they would have given me a copy of the bill so that I could have given a shout out to our server. Our food was delivered very promptly and it was hot when it arrived. The Gyro skillet could have used a little more onions and tomatoes but the feta cheese is not overpowering. I don’t know how they get their pancakes so fluffy but they are light and hold the syrup well. Additionally the prices are very reasonable for the quality they are offering.

MEAL REVIEW: I had the county fried steak. The gravy was so delicious. The steak was moist and flavorful. If you’re a fan of this dish, try it here! I also had French toast with pecans. It was delicious!

VISITED EVERY WEEKEND: I traveled to Milwaukee every weekend in October. And stopped by for bf every weekend and had the same meal. I’ll be there on Tuesday again, and this time I’ll try the crapes and the country fried steak again because I’m not sure when I’ll be back.
PRICED REASONABLE: The reasonable prices beat the chain restaurant competition!

It’s a casual family restaurant, with bright, open spaces, located in the old Perkin’s spot. No feeling of crowding, and the space was broken up nicely with partial walls and plants that kept sound from traveling and reverberating off the walls.
Tina was our server and she was very sweet and helpful. At one point I let “her” know we were not going to wait for our 7th person and “she” gave me a really strange look. Turns out I told the WRONG employee. Face palm. They both had beautiful, long, dark hair pulled back in ponytails that I mistook one for the other. What a dolt. I apologized and we chuckled it off, but it still gives me bad feelings.
The food is delicious. We love brunch. We had a number of omelets, pancakes, and skillets ordered. I started with the Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup, and then had the Combo Skillet with Toast. The soup is SO good. I am a HUGE fan of creamy soups. The skillet was equally delicious – though I took half of it home and am having it for lunch today. Everyone really liked their selections. Not a complaint in the group. Note that most of the menu pics on Google are old. The current menu is one large sheet with breakfast on one side and lunch on the other.
We will definitely go back.

Every time we drive through this part of the state we end up stopping and I am reminded of how good the food is.
The staff are always hustling, but still make time to check with the customers and say hi to locals.

Be careful with your credit card at this restaurant!
A friend and I were at the Riverside for lunch on December 9, 2025. The bill was $35.07. I added a seven dollar tip, bringing the total to $42.07. The riverside ran my credit card for $32.07 AND for $42.07! Double charge!!!!!
I contacted the bank that issued the credit card, to get Riverside’s error corrected — assuming it IS an error and not deliberate.
It has been EIGHT WEEKS and Riverside’s owner has not responded to Citibank’s efforts to have the $35.07 charge removed.

Really great restaurant just a short walk across the street from Pilot and Loves. The food had great flavor , perfect temperature and nice portions.
Well worth the walk and great prices even during a Biden economy. Obviously they didn’t jack up their prices like the fast food dumps did. One of my favorites .

Jenny my server was wonderful. Ordered the veggie omelet, pancakes, and hash browns. Cooked to perfection. Right across the street from pilot and loves truck stops. Great value for your money. Truck parking also available behind restaurant. Truckers let get something to eat outside of loves and pilot. You want be disappointed

Nice little Family Restaurant. The soup was crazy salty (I couldn’t eat it) bbbuuuttt the Philly Cheese steak was very good. My daughter had a breakfast meal and it was nice. If in that area again I would drop in here for a ” cozy” home style meal.
