I feel like I lucked out finding Shibiz, stumbling upon a new and upcoming food creative. After a week in Maui, bouncing around shorelines and food markets, Shibiz shines the brightest for me.
Inside the Saturday Swap Meet you’ll find a pop up tent with a 4×4 Toyota Hiace parked next to it. There’s not a lot of flair or pizazz with Shibaz, and that’s a good thing, because the focus is rightfully on the food, with dishes that are handsomely and thoughtfully created by this husband and wife team. Mom runs the register, dad builds the bowls, and the kids get to run around and be kids. It’s a wholesome thing to witness.
After a week’s worth of excellent food, I figured this ahi katsu bowl was gonna be good, but I didn’t know how good it would be. The ahi tuna was perfectly seared around the edges and nicely battered, with a soft and cool center that tastes super fresh. The poor thing was probably out swimming that morning before being pulled up and filleted for our pleasure. And let’s not forget that the fish was laid delicately upon a balanced bed of sticky rice and curry, with some brightly pickled ginger, crunchy fresh greens, and a delightful house made katsu sauce to bring it all together.
Bite for bite, it was the best food I’ve put in my mouth whilst on Maui. Shibiz is the real deal, and the family should feel proud of the path they’re on. This is a MUST eat for locals and visitors alike. I expect this place to blow up, so it’s best to get there early before they run out.

Shekinah, Justin and their sweet keiki are the best!! We go to sunday market JUST for shibiz. We’ve tried just about everything on their menu and haven’t tried anything we didn’t absolutely love! The quality, the presentation, the freshness and the taste of the food is to die for. *Bonus, when you support them, you’re supporting a family, local fishermen & most importantly, supporting LOCAL! Definitely recommend to anyone. My personal fav is the dynamite musubi & fresh poi mochi!

My family and I found Shibiz Maui at the Maui Swap Meet in Kahului, and the food was so good we had to come back again at the Maui Sunday Market. This is easily some of the best food on Maui.
Their poke bowls are incredibly fresh with generous portions, but the highlight for me was the Ahi Katsu. It was the best Ahi Katsu I’ve had in Hawaii. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender in the middle, and paired with their house katsu sauce and garnishes. My kids loved the Dynamite Spam Musubi, and the Poi Mochi was the perfect way to end the meal.
Bonus: Shibiz Maui also offers private catering, making them an awesome choice for events and gatherings on Maui.

Justin’s execution is next level. Tonight I tried the Ahi Katsu and the plate disappeared before I even thought about taking a picture. It’s always awesome to see a beautiful local family serving top notch gourmet style meals with Hawaiian style at its finest. Go check out shibiz to experience the pure Aloha served in every dish. WOWZA – YUM!! Their Ahi Tacos are SO SO DELICIOUS. And Dynamite Musubi plus fresh Poke, And Katsu! And even mochi dessert too. You can find them at the Saturday Maui Swap Meet – across the street from the MACC. This is a local family-owned business and the amount of compassion and dedication to their food and service really demonstrates their commitment to quality and serving up the freshest ingredients for the local community! BEST EVER!! Poke Tacos out of this , Hawaiian Poke Bowl with poi ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Spicy Poke Nachos love the presentation and so yummy!
