Extremely disappointing experience.
We had 6:30 PM reservations and were seated promptly. It was a fixed-price menu, and we ordered right away. We received our drinks and soup, but after waiting about 90 minutes with no entrée, I asked for an update and was told it would be coming out soon. Ten minutes later, we were informed they had run out of steaks. After such a long wait with no communication, we decided to leave.

A great option for anyone staying at the Pell or just looking for a delicious place to eat! My husband and I both ordered the Mahi Miso and it was very flavorful and well portioned. Our drinks were also very good- I ordered a mocktail while my husband ordered a beer. For dessert I got the key lime pie (it was so good I forgot to take pictures) and my husband ordered the bread pudding, which he also enjoyed very much. When we arrived we were the only people there for a while and our server was very friendly and attentive. If I had any feedback at all it would be that I was hoping the entree price might include a side (or some table bread or something) but we’re from out of state so maybe that’s just not a thing here. Still we had a great time and would recommend!

First time visit to this restaurant since the building changed hands and was completely recovered and reimagined. We were there for a Thanksgiving dinner and were not disappointed. Turkey was perfectly cooked and most. Green beans, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce were outstanding. Stuffing was flavorful but very dry. Small piece of simple sweet potato pie was topped with unmelted mini marshmallows dusted with cinnamon. Very nice modern atmosphere. Exceptional service. We will definitely return.

The portion sizes are incredibly small and not in accordance with the pricing. The scallop dish at $38 consisted of 4 small scallops, 2 tiny carrots that would not feed Peter Rabbit, and some source of pureed food reminiscent of baby food.

So extremely grateful for my experience at The Helmway Restaurant. We were served by Lynn who treated us grace, kindness, patience and world class hospitality. Amazing service!
Was later also served by Dan, another extremely pleasant member of staff who was kind and caring during my stay. Thank you

Their breakfast is delicious and relatively average price. My go to was the breakfast sandwich, but the other alternatives like the French Toast and breakfast burrito was equally good!

The food was excellent and the service was friendly and quick. The calamari was crisp and the sweet chili on it enhanced the flavor. I got the scallops for my entree and they were seared perfectly, yet perfectly tender. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant if you like seafood.

Went there yesterday and had reservations for 730. When we got there we were standing waiting for the hostess to greet us. After 30 min of waiting still no one came over to seat us and there were 5 ppl working the floor. Ended up asking other customers if they gave been waiting awhile out loud. Still no one came over or apologized for the wait or inconvenience and actually allowed us to just walk out. Terrible service and ignorant staff. Would never go to this restaurant again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Very nice restaurant within the Pells hotel. We have had breakfasts and cocktails there. Very good food, and there was a jazz band Friday night. Service was great.

I’ve passed by this place a million times and never considered going in until I saw it on the Newport County Dinner Club booklet. The food here is phenomenal! I had no idea what I was missing!
The waitress told me that on Tuesdays they do a taco special, and on Thursdays they do a burger special with a beer for $15. They also have open mic nights and live music at different times.
I will definitely be back!
