Tacos Hidalgo in Rio is a game changer. Straight up worth the drive from Roma every time. Service is on point — fast, professional, and they treat you right from the moment you walk in.
The tacos were fire, and I didn’t even have to ask for cilantro, onion, or salsa — everything came out exactly how it should. That’s real service.
The employees were kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Complete opposite of Tacos Elías in Roma, where the service has gotten rude and careless.
Tacos Hidalgo earned 5+ stars easy. When a spot respects you AND serves good food, that’s where you go.

Absolutely delicious!! Best tacos I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of tacos in my life. Salsas are amazing as well and SPICY. Love it. Wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often.

Asked for more oil on the tortillas so they would not split and this is what I got. The lady that gave them to me said 2 orders with less oil, I told her it was with more. Opened them as soon as I got home. Next time, I will drive to Hidalgo at Roma, they are much better.

I ordered 1 fish taco and two carna sada tacos and a diet coke. I was brought 3 carna asada tacos. The meat was cubed real small and over cooked. Cashier charged me for a combo. I politely corrected her, stating I didn’t order the combo plate which consisted of 6 street tacos and a baked potato. She was very rude when I pointed this out. One would think a person could get a decent taco this close to the border. I’ve had better tacos in Houston. I don’t recommend this establishment.

This used to be my go to spot. However, they have increased their prices waaaaaaay to much, with no difference in the food or service, an outrageous amount to pay almost $17 for a combo that used to be around $10 or so.
