Found a metal something in my greens. See picture. I’ve tried so many times over the years to overlook some things woods does but I live over an hour from here. So I come hungry hoping to get good soul food. They raised there prices… I get that but now metal in my food. They’ve lost my business this time.
Update: 2022
Mac and cheese is watery and tastes like can cheese and the greens recipe has changed as well. I have had the rib tips twice lately and they have been awful. Fish is still on point. No longer consistent and that’s kind of disappointing. I’ll still come here when I come to town.

Tasty food. Portions are not as large as I’ve been told. Ordered catfish dinner, 2 sides. Apx 6-7 half quarters pieces of fillet catfish. Small portion of sweet potatoes and green beans (they were out of collards). Wait wasn’t long. Food was tasty.

I got the catfish dinner. It filled me up. It was cooked perfectly.. my sides were the fried and Mac n cheese. Fries were good. Just wish I had asked for salt and pepper for the Mac n cheese. Other than that it was really good. I do feel bad.. I usually like to tip.. used my debit card and thought I might get a prompt to tip and it didn’t. Next time I promise I will double my tip because you have deserved it. We work out of Lansing and have jobs in Flint occasionally . Also came out quickly for it being noon.

Last timre i got a bunch of bones for rib tips with little meat,this Tuesday went to get rib tips dinners the meat on the end of the rib couldn’t chew it ,the tips some look like strips, if you say rib tips then that’s what i expect,not end of rib i cant chew and my other quest wasn’t pleased with there dinner either coleslaw is not good at all coleslaw was horrible and nasty,upgraded to some better coleslaw please, i was just upset with my dinner didn’t eat it all i been going to support woods for year but if my rib tips gone look like that am going to have to find me another bar be que place,hardly no sauce on meat,do better cooks, with the rib tips please,shrimps need to be ate before they get cold cause if not all your shrimp breading coming off need to be cooked a little bit more and when you put them in the box make holes so they wont be soggy and sweaty also let some of the heat out and steam am going to try other ribs and i will let you know how there’s taste,just need to inprove on yall tips

I have been a Woods customer since 1989. Recently the prices have gone from $13.99 for a BBQ chicken dinner to $18.01. I am very disappointed my dinner was dry and the meat over cooked and some part of the chicken burnt. I believe that they thought drenching it in sauce would make it taste better it did not. The prices have skyrocket in the past few years and the service has gone down. The price stated on the board for a BBQ Chicken dinner plainly stated $16.99 but I was charged the price of a whole BBQ Chicken dinner which is $18.01 for a back, drumstick, and half a breast. Thanks no thanks you have lost a long time repeat customer.

This place by far has the best catfish this out of the Mississippi and also the perch is fantastic. We got the 12 piece catfish and 12 piece perch basket along with coleslaw and baked beans, The baked beans were delicious. Oh and also the fried okra. Very good portion. Sizes are great. Service is wonderful as well. Can’t wait to go back!

I ordered catfish. They missed half my order but corrected it immediately and gave me a $10 discount! My fish is Delicious, fried and seasoned to Perfection! Woods has been a staple in our community since I was a kid and the food is still good!
