The food as always was delicious!
We were visiting the Lightport on Lord Street and decided to call into this restaurant as my Father was visiting for the weekend. Initially we were greeted okay and escorted to our table. We ordered drinks, Lime and Lemonade, waters and Cobra and I could see the waiter and bar assistance talking at the bar. To our horror we could see the bar assistance talking to the waiter as he had pointed out that one of the drinks had something floating in the drink and instead of replacing the drink he put his full hand into the glass and removed the item and then topped up the glass and was laughing. I seen this and approached the bar assistance to say why would you do such a thing and was welcomed with a barrel of abuse and no apology. The owner/manager then came out and was apologising on behalf of the assistant and tried to settle the situation, which was completely unacceptable. We left the restaurant and the waiter followed and was trying to apologise and give us a complimentary drink etc which was not appreciated. If this is how they treat customers serving drinks then how do they treat food orders in the kitchen. We have lived in Southport for 14 years and have never experienced such poor customer service. We will never visit this restaurant again and would certainly not recommend this to anybody visiting Southport as there are plenty of nice restaurants around the area who actually value their customers.
I had come only for dinner.
I left… transformed.
The butter chicken arrived first, its surface gleaming like the satin gown of a heroine at her first grand ball. One taste, and I felt a shiver of pure surrender. Rich, velvety, impossibly tender—this was no mere dish. This was a declaration. A promise that love can indeed come in the form of a creamy tomato embrace.
Then came the garlic naan, warm and soft, its aroma curling around me like the arms of a brooding hero who refuses to let go. Each tear of bread was a delicate sigh, each bite a stolen moment that left me wanting more.
But it was the lamb rogan josh that undid me. Bold. Intense. Unapologetically passionate. The kind of dish that sweeps you off your feet and whispers, “Trust me.” And trust it I did, with every sumptuous mouthful.
The staff, attentive yet mysteriously aloof, added to the delightful tension—appearing at my side just when I needed them, retreating into the shadows like loyal confidants in a slow-burn romance.
By the time I reached dessert—a golden gulab jamun lounging in syrup like a forbidden tryst—I knew:
I had fallen. Completely. Recklessly. Deliciously.
If love had a flavour, it would taste exactly like Kasturi Indian Restaurant in Southport.
My wife & I called in for an early evening meal midweek
Can honestly say that the food was mouthwatering good.
Such a large menu to choose from gives room to explore new culinary experiences at a modest cost.
Service was excellent.
Will be returning soon!
