Great little find in Russellville. We ordered a whole chicken and some white beans. That chicken left a nice smokey smell on my hands all day
And this white beans were so good.
Had to flag a server down to get drink refills, and they were not busy… But other than that, food was legit!
They do have specials and other diner style food outside of the bbq options too.

Did a take out order of pork by the pound. Fast, friendly service and the food was excellent. This is a local staple. Drive thru was backed up, probably 10 cars. It’s much quicker to go in the store.

Good southern cooking. This food is consistent from the barbecue to the comfort food. Don’t forget the fried pies.

This place changed how I view barbecue. I have lived all over the Southeastern United States, and they have the best swine that I’ve ever put in my mouth. I was never a particularly big fan of the genre, until I went to Roy’s. I’m not sure if they have Gnomes and Wizards cooking in the back, but whoever it is knows EXACTLY what they are doing, and where the magic is.
I would highly recommend this place over any other option around. You might have to drive all the way to North Carolina to find a better joint. If you haven’t been here, I feel sorry for you.

Delicious food, delicious fried pie, excellent service, great quiet homey atmosphere. Absolutely nothing to complain about, except for how far it is from home. We had the fried chicken and the pork plate, everything was excellent. The sweet tea was as good or better than any I’ve had in my life, the pork was perfect, tender, flavorful, spicy. The sides were all great, the squash, Mac and cheese, perfectly seasoned, great home cooked tasting food. The potato salad reminded me of what my mother made 15 years ago. After paying, we decided on a peach fried pie to take with us, and it was amazing. Tender, fluffy, buttery crust, dusted with sugar and filled with sweet, tender peaches. Can’t beat that, absolutely recommend if you’re in the area. They also had a drive through and carry out, however you get it, I’m sure it’s great.

Great BBQ. The fried okra was a pleasant surprise. Some of the best I’ve had in a long while. We also tried the fried pies. Apple and peach. Very yummy! A nice ending to our meal.

It looks amazing. The pulled pork was fabulous and the brisket was good until it got cold then they had the same weird taste of the ribs. The ribs tasted like they where reheated in a plastic bag in the microwave. The rolls and cornbread was also warmed in the microwave. I was disappointed I was so excited to try it, and for the most part 2 out of 3 ain’t bad. Then my husband asked for no sauce and his was smothered in it. Now I get sometimes that can’t be helped cause food is basted with the sauce but when asked for no sauce there should have been no extra sauce put on it. Plus side my niece enjoyed the the chicken strips and fries.

The BBQ at this place is good. But the Cajun catfish is today for on the menu. Ask for extra seasoning. What a great down-home place. Everybody there knows each other. I definitely will be back. Was not a fan of the barbecue sauce. Video review coming soon to the Jack on the go show on YouTube.
