If you’re looking for a true hidden gem in Texarkana, Lunch Box is it — no hype, just incredible food done right not to mention granny making sure everyone is welcomed and everything was ran properly (even a little bossy) which was entertaining.
The chicken fried steak is hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had: perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and smothered in rich, comforting gravy. And don’t even get me started on the chicken fried chicken — it’s to die for. Crunchy, flavorful, and cooked exactly how Southern comfort food is supposed to be.
The real sleeper hit? The homemade rolls. Soft, warm, buttery perfection that tastes like they came straight out of someone’s grandma’s kitchen. You can tell everything here is made with care, not shortcuts.

We used the lunchbox to cater our employee appreciation at work and to say it was a hit is a understatement. The staff was so sweet when I come in and helped me get everything to my car. Will for sure be using again!

I have wanted to try them for a while. They did NOT disappoint! The meatloaf, okra, potatoes, roll, and peach cobbler were AMAZING!!! The portions are more than enough. If you are looking for a new gem, this is the place. The staff was also top notch!

So the wife and I were looking for a different place to eat in Texarkana on our day of taking care of business. We had heard about this place before, but had been told by some it was meh. But we wanted to try it and after looking at their menu options and the price, we were pleasantly surprised how reasonable it was. So we traveled to this little diner and gave it a try. We were very pleased. The place looks like your old ma and pa little dives. And that’s what I love. We were greeted by the nicest (but very vocal) lady. She was a hoot. We went on a Monday so we got the Monday specials. My wife got the Chicken Spaghetti and I got the Chicken Fried Steak. The specials come with potatoes and gravy, green beans and a salad, as well as a dessert options (which they have plenty of). The meal also included a drink for under $12. I will say the Chicken Fried Steak could have had more salt and might not have been as tender as I would have liked (which is why I can’t give 5 stars, but it’s closer to 4.5). But my wife’s chicken spaghetti was excellent. The service was quick and friendly. I loved the paintings on the wall with their positive messages and I loved the antique rack with all the older items. Overall it was a good experience and we will be back. I will say it can get busy very quick and there is not a ton of seating so get there early. But either way give this place a try. You won’t regret it.

Fantastic. Everything about this place is great. I will definitely be back. All the food was seasoned, like your Grandma was making Sunday dinner. That Honeybunn Cake, and that Ding Dong Cake. Will have you fighting if someone tries to eat it. So go on by, get you some.

Staff was very professional and courteous. Lunch special today was chicken and dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, Black eyed peas, and dinner roll. Food was very excellent and tasteful.
