Worst Restaurant experience ever! Doesn’t even deserve one star.
This is without question the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in Ashton.
The food was completely unacceptable poorly cooked, tasteless, and absolutely not worth the money. When we calmly and genuinely shared our feedback about the food, the situation turned shocking.
Instead of listening or apologising, the owner jumped into the conversation and then both owner and the staff became aggressive and started using abusive language towards us. What should have been a normal customer feedback conversation quickly turned into an argument initiated by the owner. Their behaviour was hostile, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate.
No customer deserves to be spoken to in an abusive manner, especially for giving honest feedback. This level of disrespect and lack of basic hospitality is unacceptable.
Between the terrible food and the abusive, confrontational owner and staff this place failed on every level. It felt unsafe, uncomfortable, and stressful — the exact opposite of what a dining experience should be.
I strongly warn others to avoid this restaurant unless you are prepared to be mistreated for simply speaking up.
And the funny part was the person who started with the abusive language claimed to be the sous chef, the owner, the manager as well as the bar tender.

I want to clarify the recent comment from the restaurant owner. During our visit, we ordered papadum, naans, one starter plate, and one sabji. The sabji was overly sweet, so we requested a replacement for just that one dish. At no point did we “consume multiple dishes and repeatedly request replacements” as claimed. We have the bill as well for proof.
Our feedback was honest and polite, shared only to highlight the issues with that single dish. We did not threaten staff or attempt review manipulation. This review reflects our genuine experience, and we stand by it.

I ordered food for delivery today, it’s been a while but good food on the taste buds are best enjoyed after abstance.
Good food, one of best restaurants in Ashton under lyne. Purple Olive best place to eat in quality food at affordable price. Not many good restaurants around, with compromise quality of price elsewhere.
Food was delivered war ready to eat. Fast delivery than time estimated through the restaurants online order portal.
No hidden charges upon checkout on the website, clear and concise breakdown of the meals and items ordered. Highly recommend.
The driver was very friendly and cheerful and smiled whilst handy over the order. It’s always warming when you order from Purple Olive and the driver shows gratitude. I also thank the driver and smiked back out of politeness.

Purple Olive have a huge tree in the restaurant that gives off a nostalgic feeling. A relaxing place to eat at. Friends, family with or without kids.
The atmosphere isn’t overrated but rather calm simple and very welcoming and also a feeling of staying not rushing to leave.
The staff are always very friendly and offer top notch customer services.
The car park has space as well as free street parking always beware of the double yellow line on the roads.

We were a party of 12 and our booking was 19:45 on Saturday 14th feb. Probably not the best time for a family reunion but still from receiving our starter course relatively quickly it wasn’t until 10 pm our mains arrived. When we 1st arrived we requested amongst other drinks 2 jugs of water. Only one arrived it took 5 more requests to finally get the water. The waiting staff seemed disorganised and were running around in all directions and the music was loud . I suppose the prices were relatively cheap so that reflects the average quality of the food.

Had my most recent visit for dinner, yesterday, since this is a favourite for me and the rest of the family. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived, so we received our food in a definitely timely manner, and it was as delicious as usual. Service is also friendly, especially as they recognise us from prior visits. Very likely to visit again in the future.

We booked last minute and they got us in on an event night. Food was impeccable as always but the service was even more fantastic. They sat us in the new room and we had 5 different staff all come in and check on us to make sure we were fully stocked and didn’t need anything else. They noticed we were a little chilly and put the heating up for us. Great service as always!

If a minus rating were possible, this place would absolutely deserve it. The food was shockingly bad — badly cooked, completely tasteless, and an outright waste of money. When we calmly gave honest feedback, the situation spiralled immediately.
The man who confronted us claimed to be the owner, though that was unclear as he was also working behind the bar. Instead of acting professionally, he became openly hostile, aggressive, and verbally abusive, turning a simple comment into a heated argument.
This level of behaviour is disgraceful. No customer should ever be spoken to this way for giving feedback. Between the awful food and the abusive, confrontational conduct, this restaurant fails on every possible level. Avoid at all costs.
