Good service, fair prices, and good food! We really enjoyed the side salad—not sure where they found such good tomatoes in January and we loved their ranch dressing. Even though we usually aren’t fans of thick ranch, theirs was excellent. We also tried the special , ‘Beef and Noodles’ l; it’s served a bit differently without traditional egg noodles, reminding us more of a beef stroganoff with a brown gravy rather then cream gravy.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Auburn! Just a heads-up: this is a 21+ establishment, so no family dining is available

While visiting the DeKalb Fair this week, we decided to try MiMi’s Retreat Bar instead of eating fair food. We were greeted right away when we walked in, which was a nice start.

Our server was friendly and took our orders promptly. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich, I ordered the breaded tenderloin, and we shared fries. The sandwiches were good, but the fries were a bit disappointing—very small portion for nearly $5 extra. They were thin, McDonald’s-style fries.

The bar wasn’t busy during our visit, with only a couple tables occupied at a time. Staff seemed to know most guests personally, greeting them with hugs. The music was loud, which may be fun for some, but felt a little overwhelming to us.

The biggest issue was the restrooms, which had a very strong odor that made the experience unpleasant.

Overall, the food itself was decent, but the portion sizes, loud atmosphere, and restroom cleanliness kept it from being a great visit.

Had a great meal here. I had the Rubin sandwich and the wife had the Club salad. Attentive and friendly service. Passing through on our way south and stopped in for dinner. The menu has a good selection and nicely priced. Auburn is a great exit to stay over for the night.

Tenderloin was amazing. Poppers was amazing. Fish was amazing. The tarter sauce I feel was missing some excitement that the rest of the meal had. The root beer was a great pairing to both meals.

Spending the night on our way north, asked at the hotel for local ideas after seeing Mimi’s when we googled. They weren’t familiar with the place so we decided to try it out. Looks like a bar with tables, great beer selection, Thursday Friday and Saturday dinner specials included grilled Mango Mahi. Excellent! I tried to buy the cole slaw recipe it’s so good and try the sweet potato fries with a unique dipping sauce. Highly recommended.

Super delicious! Stopped by for lunch/early dinner and everything was so tasty and fresh! We enjoyed the fish dinner, cheeseburger and seasoned fries, and curry chicken mango sandwich with sweet potato fries and that special sauce!

This is my second time eating here and I could not be happier. A 2 1/2 hour drive to have the Chicken Strips was well worth it. Simply the best pieces of fried chicken I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned with hints of sage and a slightly sweet back flavor and not over salted.
One of the best things in Auburn.

Great place for lunch or dinner. Mimi’s does have daily specials of wich Wednesdays Gumbo is probably my favorite. The Friday fried fish special is perfection. The fried fish is also on the regular menue to enjoy as well. Be sure to leave room for a piece of carrot cake. I would also recommend the Tuesday tenderloin sandwich with onion rings or sweet potato fries.

Friendly servers. Food is above average bar food i recommend the pork tenderloin sandwich. A large portion that is not overcooked.

Great food, service, and drinks. I love that they have a drink menu with a wide variety of ciders, beer and other drinks. Also their root beer is craft so the capitan Morgan and root beer is awsome.
