We had brunch at The Exchange today(10/5/25) on our way home to PA from Rochester, NY. I’ve passed by this place many times traveling back and forth but never stopped. Today we did and I’m so glad we did but upset we haven’t stopped sooner. That will definitely change from now on. The Exchange Bakery will now become a must stop when traveling to and from Rochester or a detour if I’m going anywhere else along interstate 81. The food and service were excellent. However, the delectable morsels we purchased at the bakery were superior!

I’ve had croissants in many places in this country and abroad. These are in my top 3 of croissants of all time. You can tell time was taken in the lamination process. The only negative I can think of is not buying more to bring home with us. Kudos to the pastry chef! I spoke with one of the pastry chefs as I was paying for my delicious treasures. She explained to me how she made the date/pistachio brownie bites. They were so delicious. Thank you Chef for explaining your technique and ingredients! They are perfect. You are extremely talented.

Everything we bought was delicious. I truly couldn’t pick a favorite. Well, maybe the croissants and the brownie bites!!
I loved how you could see the pastry chef working her magic. You can tell she loves what she does and is proud of her work. And she should be! She has tremendous talent.
If you’re passing through or near Homer, NY, do yourself a favor and stop by The Exchange for a bite to eat and do not leave without purchasing something from the bakery. You won’t be disappointed. The town is cute too and a great place for a rest stop on your journey. It’s a win/win.

This was my first time visiting the Exchange Bakery. I purchased a glazed donut, apple fritter, cinnamon raisin bagel & chocolate chip scone. The glazed donut may have been the best donut i have ever had. Delicious! The apple fritter was also very good. My wife had the scone and she said it was delicious.

A good bakery on steroids. I’ve tried almost everything, and the Apple Fritters are a mouth-watering, sweet meal. Whole slices of apples and still cooked all the way through. You can tell by the flavor and texture that there are professionals in their trade worth the few extra dollars for a real pastry/baked good. Their hot coco is rich and creamy, too

I just went in to check it out! Wow, I’ve never seen such a variety of desserts. Huge cookies were $3.75 each. I wouldn’t be buying a dozen!!

Apparently this place has issues with the LGBT community. As soon as I walked in a boss or manager approach ask if I was looking for hand outs. No to mention my cloths and everyone knows it’s top of the line.
Then I responded I was on the phone with co-workers figuring out our order.
Not to mention they charged .e 15.00 for 3 items
I will never enter this place again and all my customers will be aware of there actions

I have worked in a lot of kitchens, and eaten a lot of breakfast and I can honestly say this a top tier spot for breakfast in CNY. I had a pastrami bagle sandwich, a chocolate croissant, and a LARGE s’mores cookie. The bagle was outstanding, the crisp and the chew were perfect and overall jsut very well done, the croissant was perfect, the chocolate was balanced and the ratio of chocolate to croissant was just right. Lastey the s’mores cookie was way over the top but in the best way! Service was great too. Was it expensive? Not for the quality of the food, everything was reasonable, I would recommend this over anything in the Cortland area.

I checked it out as I heard the Baker, Pam, is fantastic! Was so true, very well made and presented. I like there are some items to sample as well. We’ll done and kudos to Pam! The staff I encountered was very friendly as well. I got a few cookies and even some well made and very tasty gluten ones!
