The place has good airy casual vibe. We walked in for lunch, there was no wait time. Ordered three dishes, service was a bit slow, the dishes didn’t come out all together and had to wait for two of them. The buccatini pasta was really good. Lemon ricotta pancakes were dry and had no lemon or ricotta flavor. The vegetable scramble was ordinary, decent but nothing remarkable. It is a bit on the pricey side. Is better as a dinner pasta kinda place than a brunch place.

Only did happy hour today ~ Amazing drink and small dishes – totally blown away by how small things can taste so good. The calamari is the best I had for a very long time.
The chocolate pudding also crazily good – not too sweet and with the special aroma of chocolate.
Will come back for dinner soon.

The food at The Tailor’s Son was great! We ordered the Spaghetti all’Aragosta and the Cappellacci di Zucca, and both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. For dessert, we tried the Apple Crisp, but it was a bit of a letdown — it was more like warm, soggy apples with raisins and a scoop of gelato rather than an actual crisp.

While the main dishes were solid, the service definitely missed the mark. Our waiter didn’t check on us once after the food arrived, and the whole experience felt rushed. It’s a shame because the food itself was enjoyable, but the service took away from what could’ve been a great dining experience.

I had the worst experience with my food here. We went there as soon as they opened and I ordered Cappelaci Di Zucca (butternut squash pasta) @ $27, it was completely cold, I think they served previously frozen meals and just put it in microwave and bring it to the table! I told them It’s cold and they asked me if I want to change it or bring new one and I asked for a new one. They brought it back after 5 minutes and it seemed to be the same dish, I say that because parts if the food was cold and parts of it was very hot. Also, the sage leafs become darker (obvious in picture)! It probably was microwaved again! I told them that parts of the food is cold and finally returned the whole dish and didn’t have to pay.

Lovely place to duck in for a glass of wine or lite bite, especially if you are not particularly interested in watching your wife shop at all the nearby boutiques. I only gave 4 stars for the food because I only had a glass of wine and some focaccia, so not enough to go top level. What I saw on the menu, and being served to others, looked very good indeed. I would definitely come back next time I am in town!

HIGHLY recommend the risotto here – simply a phenomenal flavor profile!

This restaurant definitely has a great date or intimate gathering vibe – the portions are good for splitting. Great for a date spot – can’t wait to come back!

Service was extremely slow on a Friday at 2 PM. Took 15 minutes to get our drinks and another 15 to get our order taken
once we got our food though it was fabulous.
Kept getting bumped from behind by people and wait staff so it’s very tight
Loved the meatball appetizer and focaccia and the warm seafood salad

A night out of town consists of two things: good food and good company. I was lucky to have both on this night. Let’s focus on the food. My friend had moved from Dallas to Santa Rosa and had heard about so many good things regarding The Tailor’s Son.

We finally decided to try the place during an overnight trip to the city. Before heading out to our concert, we decided to grab a bite at The Tailor’s Son after scouting the menu and deciding that the items would fill us up.

We ordered a few appetizers and main dishes (the pasta was so fulfilling). We left very happy. The place gets super packed with people. Luckily we were able to grab seats at the bar and enjoy the view with the mirrors reflection. Our bartender paid us as much attention as he could as we were hidden behind one of the bar dispensers. The food was prompt so that made up for the delay on drinks and water refills.

The area really is lovely and we highly suggest the area and The Tailor’s Son. Walkable distance from many night life events but if you prefer grabbing a ride, no shame in it, especially when it’s cold out.

Hip, cozy, charming date spot in Pac Heights.
Took the Missus here for a Sunday dinner and we were treated like royalty from start to finish.
Our waiter, Philip, was delightfully vivacious and entertaining–such enthusiasm is rare in this day and age.
We enjoyed several courses but the meatballs, steak tartare and pasta were most memorable and photogenic. Each bite brought a symphony of flavor–rich, beefy, delectable.
The highlight here is the ambiance: the decor is rugged and romantic. It’s modern and classical. The vibe is indescribable–you’ve got to feel it for yourself.
Take your sweetheart and make an evening of it.
